Architectural features
The clock tower beside star ferry terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui, which was built in 1915, was originally part of the old Tsim Sha Tsui railway terminal of the Kowloon Canton Railway. It has witnessed the historical changes of Hong Kong over the past 100 years. Before the Second World War, countless refugees from the mainland of China came to this old railway station on the Kowloon Canton Railway. Some of them started a new life in Hong Kong, while others went overseas by ship. The railway station used to be the railway terminus of Britain in the Far East, so the bell tower is full of colonial color. The clock tower is made of red brick and granite, showing the style of the steam train era.
