Taiping Lake Forest Park is located in Mile City, Honghe Prefecture, a lucky place in southern Yunnan. It covers an area of 42 square kilometers with dense forest vegetation and high concentration of negative oxygen ions. It is a world-class plateau forest health holiday park integrating sightseeing, tourism, vacation, entertainment, conference, competition and health preservation. The park is planned to be eight scenic spots, including characteristic forest cabin Town, love theme culture park, earth art landscape park, plateau sports training base, plateau characteristic agriculture and forestry demonstration base, Plateau Characteristic seedling and flower production base, intangible cultural heritage exhibition, lakeside wetland water leisure and entertainment center.

Taiping Lake Forest Park is located in the east of Maitreya City, Fudi County, South Yunnan Province. It is 9 km away from the center of the city. It is surrounded by Taiping Lake, covering a total area of 42 square kilometers (about 63000 mu).

The park is located in the subtropical monsoon climate zone, with four seasons like spring, sufficient light, no severe cold in winter and no severe heat in summer. It is suitable for tourism and holiday all year round.

Characteristic forest wooden house town: a wooden house town with Chinese characteristics, which integrates R & D, assembly, exhibition and operation, and integrates primary, secondary and tertiary industries. Development and construction

The ecological demonstration area project of "Taiping Lake Forest Park" in Mile city is positioned as an eco-tourism landmark project with the most ecological demonstration effect and radiation driving effect in Yunnan Province. The first phase of "Red River Park" agricultural eco-tourism complex project is being implemented.

The park is expected to open during the national day of 2017.

History and Humanities

Taiping Lake Forest Park is named after Taiping reservoir, which was built in 1950 by Zhang Chong, a famous Anti Japanese general. The water area is 13000 Mu and the capacity is about 86 million cubic meters.

Zhang Chong (1901 (xinchou year) - 1980 (Gengshen year)), formerly known as Shaoyu, also known as the reform, the word Yunpeng, Yi nationality, Yi surname Nina, was born in xiaobukan, Yongning Township, Luxi County, Yunnan Province. On January 25, 1901, Zhang Chong was born in Luxi County, Yunnan Province. As a child, Zhang Chong studied in a private school. Later, he went to a primary school in his hometown and county. He lived in a time of great changes in China when he was young. He had a deep understanding of class oppression and national oppression, and cultivated the spirit of sympathy for the working people and resistance to the dark forces. At the age of 15, he retired the bandits intelligently and was praised as "little Kong Ming" by the local people.

Zhang Chong was the founder of the development of Dianxi river resources in Mile County. When his relatives returned to Mile County in early 1937, he proposed to develop Dianxi River to benefit the people. In the summer of 1942, Zhang went to Kunming with the design drawings and investment estimates of Taiping reservoir to report to Longyun for funding, and asked Jiang Zixiao, who graduated from Peking University and knew water conservancy, to replace Wang Chengzhong as the head of Maitreya county. He also went to Yunnan University to borrow a drilling machine from Xiong Qinglai, the president of Yunnan University. He also borrowed railway tracks and turning carts from the railway administration. Drilling in the Taiping reservoir area began immediately. In 1950, Zhang Chong visited Maitreya many times as vice governor of Yunnan Province and urged the Yunnan Provincial People's government to invest in the construction of Taiping reservoir. In 1959, a reservoir with 79 million cubic meters of water storage was built (after expansion, it will store more than 80 million cubic meters of water). More than 100000 mu of land has been irrigated and preserved by the reservoir, which has changed the appearance of mile baganan Township, promoted the development of county economy, and become a miracle in the history of Yunnan reservoir construction. People of all nationalities in Maitreya will always remember the founder of Taiping reservoir.
