Nanchang Zoo
Nanchang new zoo, located on Taohua South Road in southwest of Nanchang, was officially opened in 2011. Founded in 1959, it was originally the animal exhibition area of Nanchang people's Park. In February 1987, it was officially established from the people's Park, covering an area of 8.24 hectares, including 0.67 hectares of water. It is a medium-sized zoo in the provincial capital city, which was demolished in 2013
. The new Nanchang zoo is located in Chaoyang Park of Nanchang, with a total investment of 198 million yuan, covering a total area of 784.5 Mu and 0.52 square kilometers. It broke the ground on October 1, 2005 and opened in 2011.
Historical evolution
The earliest prototype of Nanchang zoo can be traced back to the early 1950s (1950). At first, it was an animal training group under the management of the Bureau of culture with the color of performing arts.
In 1959, he moved to the people's Park and became an animal exhibition area of the park.
In 1987, it declared its economic independence and became the "garden in the garden" of the people's Park.
In 1992, Nanchang zoo was completely independent from people's Park and officially opened. Nanchang municipal government decided to invest 380 million yuan to relocate the zoo as a whole.
In 2005, the relocation project of the zoo was officially launched.
In 2011, Nanchang zoo reopened its garden in Chaoyang island.

Nanchang new zoo has a total area of 784.5 mu, 0.52 square kilometers, including 145 mu of water area, with a green coverage rate of more than 80%. Besides, the main gate square area and the sub gate administrative area are also included. The Taohua river system, which is 3.6 km long, is used as the boundary between different regions. Africa

Aquatic animal area
At the northernmost side of the zoo in the aquatic animal park, there are five pavilions, including the crawling hall, the aquarium, the crocodile hall, and the cruise ship wharf. The crawling hall is the most distinctive. After entering the sightseeing corridor, many unique doors have their own unique flavor.
Herbivore area

Performance Hall
At the end of 1998, the zoo invested more than 1 million yuan to build a new large-scale animal exhibition hall. The exhibition hall covers an area of 1000 square meters, with 500 seats, lighting, advanced sound and other facilities. Between the stage and the auditorium, there is a 38 meter long and 5 meter wide animal isolation pool, in which marine animal performances can be carried out. The design of the hall is novel, the shape is beautiful, and the roof is made of stainless steel With the advanced grid structure in China, the roof tile is made of metal profiled plate, which is one of the largest comprehensive performance halls in China.
