Changhai is located at the end of zechawa gully, with S-shaped distribution. On the opposite side, there are typical glacial landscapes, such as snow capped peak, iceberg, U-shaped Valley, etc. There is no water outlet around Changhai, and the water source comes from alpine snowmelt. Strangely enough, Changhai never dries up, nor does it overflow the dike, so Tibetans call it a treasure gourd that "if you are not satisfied with it, you can't let it leak.".
Changhai is dark blue, surrounded by emerald mountains. Facing the peaks, it is Haizi, the highest, widest and deepest lake in Jiuzhaigou. In early autumn, they put on white armor. In the middle of winter, the ice layer of Changhai is as thick as 60cm, and trucks can drive on it.
Changhai can also be regarded as the mother of all Haizi in Jiuzhaigou, because Changhai has no outlet, so it can only rely on evaporation and underground rivers to discharge water, and these underground rivers are important supplies for other Haizi water sources.
