Beizha scenic spot is located on the South Bank of Jingjiang River, across the river from the ancient city of Jingzhou. With flat terrain, mild climate and crisscross rivers and lakes, it is one of the important destinations of Jingzhou's charming water culture tourism.

Jingjiang Flood Diversion North sluice is the first large-scale water conservancy project built in the Yangtze River Basin in the early days of the people's Republic of China. The sluice is 1054 meters long and has 54 holes. When the sluice was built, 300000 soldiers and civilians participated in the construction, which took only 75 days to complete, creating a miracle in the history of water conservancy construction in the world. Because of its unique engineering value and magnificent momentum, it has attracted the attention of people all over the world and the whole country. Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai wrote their own inscriptions for the Beizha project. International organizations such as the United Nations and the European Union, academic groups and tourists from various countries came here. Jiang Zemin, Li Peng, Zhu Rongji, Wen Jiabao and other state leaders have successively inspected the work of Beizha and concerned about the construction of Beizha project. Beizha has superior location and rich resources. It integrates with Jingzhou Yangtze River Bridge and Jingzhou, the ancient city of the Three Kingdoms, and forms a famous "Golden Triangle" of water culture on the golden tourism belt of the Yangtze River with Dujiangyan, Three Gorges Dam and Gezhouba in Sichuan. In 2006, it was listed as a key cultural relics protection unit by the State Council. After more than 50 years of construction, the magnificent Beizha project, unique water culture resources and perfect software and hardware environment have been included in the key construction project of Western Hubei ecological and cultural tourism circle by Hubei provincial government and the key development project of "prospering the city through tourism" by Jingzhou Municipal government. After the completion of the Yangtze River Bridge in Jingzhou City, the north gate has built a road connecting the top of the dike and a riverside tourist wharf, with convenient transportation and convenient land and water. It takes only 20 minutes from the ancient city of Jingzhou to the north gate. It is rich in natural resources, with a developable area of 2.1 square kilometers, 500 mu of aquaculture water surface, 8 houses that can be converted into hotels and other service facilities, with a building area of 6000 square meters and three water and electricity connections. It is now declared as a national AAA scenic spot with a multi-functional system of visit, tourism, leisure, vacation and entertainment, which has a strong impact on the Yangtze River water control and the characteristic culture of Jiangnan Water Town.
