Shihou nunnery

Shilou nunnery is located in Tanshan, Guangfu Town, Wuzhong District, Suzhou city. There is no research on the age of the first building of the nunnery. In the early Qing Dynasty, the silent Zen master lived there.

Historical evolution

In the early Qing Dynasty, Ge Zhi wrote in a brief account of Shilou nunnery: "when the house went silent," the five pillars of Zhibai house gradually collapsed, but no one had to repair them. ". Rao'an planted dozens of loquat, and planted bamboo to cover it. The temple was destroyed again.

During the Anti Japanese War, the monk took off the dust and loved the elegant mountain, and had a spring for him, so he restored the mountain nunnery. Now it is one of the important scenic spots in Guangfu tourist area.

Shilou'an was listed as a cultural relic protection unit of Wu County in 1986, and is now listed as a cultural relic protection unit of Suzhou city due to its administrative division.

Introduction to scenic spots

There are dozens of couplets built in the period of the Republic of China in shilou'an, which were originally given to Jade Buddha by Burmese believers (now stored in situ Temple).
