Changsha Youth Palace

The Youth Palace of Changsha City was located in the Qing Dynasty. It was the seat of the governor's Yamen of Hunan Province. During the revolution of 1911, it was the seat of the governor's office of Hunan Province. The southern society founded by Tan Sitong also rose here. In 1934, the Hunan Provincial folk art club was established, and Zhongshan Park was built after the victory of the Anti Japanese war. After the founding of new China, with the concern and support of the party and the government, in the 1950s, some large and medium-sized cities in our country learned from the former Soviet model, gave the best prosperous areas to the youth, and established the first batch of youth palaces (youth activity centers). In 1956, the provincial and municipal governments decided to transform the original people's club and news hall into a Municipal Youth Palace based on Zhongshan Park. The construction started in 1957 and was officially opened to the public in the Spring Festival of 1958. Changsha Youth Palace is a large-scale comprehensive youth learning, training, cultural and entertainment place and foreign cultural exchange position with the largest scale, the largest number of trainees and the most extensive influence of activities in our province, which is dominated by youth social education. The Youth Palace is subordinate to the second level organization of Changsha Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League. It has 12 departments (including one boarding primary school and two kindergartens) and more than 300 employees.

Changsha Youth Palace is a public institution funded by the financial balance of Changsha Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League. It provides a learning place for the city's youth, improves their comprehensive quality, cultivates their artistic talents, and carries out their cultural education and training activities and extracurricular education.
