At that time, the place names of the areas reclaimed by Zhangs were all marked with the word "Jie" and those reclaimed by quans were all marked with the word "lot". Jiaqing seventeen years (1812) in August, the gamalanting set up governance. At this time, there were yuanshanbao and xizhoubao in Yuanshan township. In 1920, the local government of Taiwan was reformed, and Yuanshan was changed into Yuanshan villa, which was under the jurisdiction of Ilan County, Taipei.
At the beginning of the post-war period, Yuanshan township was set up, which was subordinate to the Ilan District Office of Taipei County. It was classified as Ilan County in 1950 and has been since.
Zhonghua village was originally under the jurisdiction of Sanxing township. Because it was separated from Sanxing Township by Lanyang River, it was put under the jurisdiction of Yuanshan Township on July 1, 1976.
administrative division
The township is divided into 16 villages: Qixian village, Zhonghua village, Neicheng village, Yonghe village, Tongle village, Shangde village, Zhenshan village, Yuanshan village, Shengou village, Huihao village, Hubei village, Huxi village, Hudong village, Yixian village, Toufen village and Zhenxiang village.
Write a legend with Gezai Opera
Just past the boundary of Yilan City and into Yuanshan Township, we are faced with a long string of rice noodle shops on Yuanshan road. A mouthful of big bone soup makes people warm all over. Looking out, the afternoon in Guanshan is quiet, with occasional dog barking, just like any small rural town in Taiwan.
But Yuanshan is a legendary town.
One of the legends is that five years ago, Yuanshan Township became the first financial rich Township in Ilan County. In those days, Lin Chao, chairman of the domestic group, died. He was in his hometown and registered residence in the mountain. Lin Deng paid more than 200 million yuan of inheritance tax after his death, so that this small town, with less than 50 million yuan of annual tax revenue, not only has the financial resources to provide accident insurance for the whole Township, but also provides birth allowance. A number of social benefits set a precedent for Ilan County.
Music of Gezai Opera
The greater legend of Yuanshan dates back to the early days of the Japanese occupation. Gezai Opera is the only local opera native to Taiwan, and Yuanshan is the hometown of Gezai Opera.
In Toufen village of Yuanshan Township, there is a monument to commemorate this period of history. At that time, ou LaiZhu, a native of Yuanshan, set up a shed under the tree to teach and sing "local songs". The villagers gathered and learned to recite them. Later, it gradually evolved into the beginning of Gezai Opera.
Fifteen years ago, the old eggplant tree was blown down by a typhoon. Today's new branches are not as dense as before, but the music of Gezai Opera is still floating around. When the Lanyang opera troupe was founded, it specially went back to the tree to perform, reappearing the lively scene of string singing; Yuanshan's father and elder are more proud that Yang Lihua, the famous singer of Gezai Opera, was born in Yuanshan.
The memory of Gezai Opera is deeply related to Yuanshan people. Every Lantern Festival, local people always hold grand opera activities to celebrate the birth of Gezai Opera.
Create the recorder mountain with diversity
The irreplaceable position in history, but also brewing the special cultural atmosphere and local identity of Yuanshan.
In 2000, the alancheng community in Tongle village, Yuanshan Township, compiled and printed a "alancheng video log" to celebrate the millennium. Three hundred and sixty-five photos capture images of residents' lives. Each page is a story. "Reluctant to tear" Alain city residents pointed out with one voice.
Yuanshan Township Office has just completed the first oral history of Yuanshan, talking about Yuanshan, which is also the pioneering work of every township in Yilan County. From planning to completion, in the past 10 months, the township government office has toured 16 villages and invited more than 100 local elders to participate in the forum. After the publication of the book, the township head Liao mingzao was gratified and sighed: "I don't know how many old people are gone."
Yuanshan is named after a small isolated round hill. Climbing up the hill and looking at the Yuanshan, it is full of green. In addition to the famous rice noodles, Yuanshan also produces bamboo shoots, oranges, carambola and other fruits. Fushan Botanical Garden at the junction of Taipei county is rich in ecological resources.
Luo haoxuan, a young painter, chose to return to his hometown to find creative materials. He used oil paintings to record yuanshandidi, the "ancestors" and "peasant women" series, which are simple and moving. "The blood is flowing in the body," Luo haoxuan said with a simple and honest smile. "I want to find my own roots.".
In the past, people in Yuanshan used Gezai Opera; in the future, people in Yuanshan will use more ways to write down their own legends.
