Hunan embroidery Museum of China
The building area of China Xiang embroidery museum is nearly 4000 square meters, with thousands of collections and nearly 10000 books. The exhibition is based on the real objects, with pictures, words, images, sculptures and other auxiliary exhibits and on-site demonstration, forming a display system of Xiang embroidery museum with the combination of virtual and real, and the combination of dynamic and static.
Development history
As a traditional folk handicraft, Xiang embroidery has a history of more than 2000 years. After continuous innovation and development by Xiang embroidery artists, it has gradually formed its own unique artistic style and is known as China's four famous embroidery. Shaping is the birthplace of Xiang embroidery, the hometown of Xiang embroidery in China, located in Kaifu District, Changsha City, Hunan Province. In order to protect and inherit intangible cultural heritage and revitalize shaping Xiang embroidery industry, Mr. Mao Yongzhen, director of Tianli Xiang Embroidery Co., Ltd., initiated the establishment of shaping Xiang embroidery Museum in Hunan Province. The museum is awarded "the first batch of private museums in Hunan Province" by the Provincial Bureau of cultural relics, and it is the first private Xiang embroidery industry supporting Museum in Hunan Province.
The museum was established in 2006. After four years, it was formerly known as "Tianli Xiang embroidery art museum on Wuyi Road" and "Xiang embroidery art museum on Taiping culture ancient street". In March 2009, the construction of Xiangxiu Cultural Square in shaping Town, a 3A tourist attraction, began. The museum was relocated and rebuilt in the northwest corner of the cultural square, and opened to the public on May 18, 2010.

Collection
The construction of Hunan embroidery Museum in China has received the care and support of leaders at all levels of province, city, district and town. With the attention and help of Hunan embroidery industry, museum, calligraphy and painting art, collection and other circles, it has been recognized as the national intangible cultural heritage base, Hunan cultural development demonstration base, Changsha Hunan embroidery science and Technology Museum, providing a place for the audience to visit and experience Hunan embroidery art.
China Xiang embroidery museum is a professional museum that shows the history and skills of Xiang embroidery to the world. The exhibition hall, with a total area of 810 square meters and a collection of more than 1200 pieces, is composed of three theme exhibition halls, namely, the historical origin of Xiang embroidery, the rise of Xiang embroidery, and the collection of contemporary Xiang embroidery. The exhibits vividly represent the evolution of Xiang embroidery technology and the Masterpieces of previous artists, vividly introduce the development process of Xiang embroidery and contemporary exquisite works, and show the new style of embroidery art.
Among these excellent works, XIONG Shi and Yin Hu, which are elaborately developed with the original "Mao needle", have won the gold cup award of China Arts and crafts Hundred Flowers Award, and both of them have been selected as national treasures of China Arts and crafts; Yang Guifei, Wang Yue and Qun Xian Zhu Shou Tu, which are developed and collected by the state.
Hunan embroidery is a kind of embroidery craft with the characteristics of Hunan Chu culture, which is elaborately created by the industrious and intelligent Hunan people in the long history of human civilization.
Xiang embroidery has a long history of more than 2000 years. From a large number of embroidery unearthed from the Chu tombs of the Warring States period in Changsha and the Western Han Tombs in Mawangdui, we can see that the local embroidery skills in Hunan at that time had reached a surprising height. After a long period of evolution, it has formed its own characteristics, which is based on Chinese painting and integrates Western painting techniques. With nearly 100 kinds of needlework and a variety of color levels, it gives full play to the expressive force of needlework on various kinds of substrates, and finely depicts the appearance and internal quality of objects. At the beginning of the 20th century, Hunan embroidery, with its unique style, won many awards at home and abroad, and became one of the four famous Chinese embroidery in the world.
