Development history
Shuyang County is a place with a long history of Buddhism. It first spread in the Yuan Dynasty, and gradually ended in the late Qing Dynasty. It was the most prosperous in the Ming Dynasty. There were 18 temples in the county. However, due to the war, all the temples were destroyed, and Shuyang County has no temples since then. It wasn't until the 1980s that it began to move again. Yuanjue temple, named Yuanjue, is one of the three realms of "Jue" in Buddhism, also known as "supreme Jue". It refers to self-consciousness, feeling that his wisdom and practice have reached the highest and most satisfactory situation. At the same time, it is hoped that the people will be peaceful and the country will be perfect and the world will be auspicious. It is also hoped that the believers and tourists who come to visit the Buddhist temple can feel the beauty of Buddhism and achieve boundless merits Fate.
Interpretation of Yuanjue logo
The logo design adopts the word "Jue" as the main body, which is in line with the "Jue" of "Yuanjue Zen forest". It also represents the "three Bodhi of agodora", which is often painted by Buddhists, that is, the supreme and equal Zhengjue. After changing the form, the original superstructure is replaced by the spire, which increases the Buddhist cultural flavor of the logo itself, and also indicates that Jue Youzhu is the name Youzhu.
The Sanskrit version of the last sentence of the Heart Sutra is surrounded by a circle outside, highlighting the "circle" in the "Yuanjue Zen forest". The quotation of the Heart Sutra here borrows the meaning of the Heart Sutra, which is profound, influential and legendary. Aren't there many examples of realizing the supreme justice from the Heart Sutra?!
Zen interaction
Yuanjue Chan forest entered the state of reconstruction in early 2013. Its network information interaction platform has been gradually developed, the official website home page has been developed, and the official microblog has been created.

The whole archway weighs 60 tons and is made of pure white marble. It is 9 meters high and 14 meters wide. It is carved with a hollow dragon pattern. The diameter of the pillar is 80 cm. The four characters of Yuanjue temple are carved on it. The front of the archway is engraved with guotaimin'an, and the back is engraved with Fengtiaoyushun. On each pillar of the archway stands a roar.
Three gates Hall
Walking through the archway, you can see the Mountain Gate hall. Generally, temples are in the mountains, so they are called Shanmen hall. The unique two-story Mountain Gate hall. In addition, the gate of a temple is usually composed of empty gate, Wuzuo gate and Wuxiang gate, which are also called Sanmen hall. Sanmen hall is the gate of a temple and separates Buddhism from the secular world.
The bell tower and the Drum Tower
There are symmetrical buildings on both sides of Shanmen hall, with the bell tower in the East and the drum tower in the West. In monasteries, bells and drums are the magic tools that monks use to work, rest, tell the time and gather lessons every day. There is a saying of morning bells and evening drums: they rise when they smell the bells, and they rest when they smell the drums. Buddhism has great respect for the sound of bells and drums. The 108 times of bells in temples are the standard, symbolizing the elimination of 108 troubles. Especially when it comes to the new year, everyone likes to ring the bell at the temple to greet the new year and pray for peace and good luck in the new year.
Free bridge
Through the Mountain Gate hall, you can walk on the free bridge. Buddhism stresses causality. What you did in the previous life will become a cause, and what you did in this life will become a result. What you did in this life will become a cause, and what you did in the next life will become a result. Come here to release, stop killing, respect life and get good results.
The water landscape in the park covers a large area and is unique in layout and design. With waterside pavilions and pavilions, it combines the magnificence of northern temples with the gentleness and softness of Jiangnan waterscape. The overall appearance is basaltic, harmonious and vivid
Black Pine Island
On the right side of fangshengqiao is a characteristic scenic heisong Island, on which 100 black pines are planted, also known as baisong island. Pinus thunbergii has long life span, barren resistance, evergreen all year round and beautiful posture. It is a good material for making bonsai. The Pinus thunbergii cultivated for many years has strong branches and roots, which has high artistic appreciation value. Together with the base, the whole heisong island looks like a large bonsai. Before long, we will put a dripping Guanyin on it to integrate the island with the temple.
Heaven King Hall
Tianwang hall is 28 meters wide and 15 meters high. It is a single eaves building modeled after the Tang Dynasty. It is dedicated to Maitreya Buddha, the four heavenly kings and Bodhisattva Weituo.
Entering the temple of heavenly king, the first thing you see is Maitreya Buddha. Maitreya Buddha is one of the most popular Bodhisattvas. He sits with a big stomach and a happy smile, which vividly represents the Buddhist principle of magnanimity and compassion. Deeply loved by the public, Maitreya Buddhism teaches the world to be tolerant and optimistic. He enlightens people's mind by teaching and entertaining. Bring joy to the solemn Buddhist temple. There is a couplet that can best illustrate Maitreya Buddha's ability to tolerate things that are difficult to tolerate in the world. He always laughs at the ridiculous people in the world.
Around the temple of heavenly kings are the four heavenly kings of Buddhism. The heavenly king of the East holds a lute in his hand. It means that you can't do things too quickly. You know, you can't do things too quickly. Just like playing a piano, if the string is loose and can't play, it will break when it's tight. The Confucian doctrine of the mean, the Buddhist doctrine of the mean, is to do just right, not too much, there can be no lack of things, things can be satisfactory. The king of growth in the south, which represents the new and the new, is holding a sword - Huijian (sword of wisdom), which means.
The king of heaven in the West has a dragon on his body. Sometimes it's a snake. Snake means the same as dragon and represents change! We often say: it means that in the real society of the material world, all people, all things and all things are changeable and changeable. We must see them clearly so that we can deal with them calmly.
It is often heard in the north that the heavenly king has an umbrella in his hand, which is a cover. In the ever-changing world, there are all kinds of pollution, so we should prevent it, not be polluted. At the same time, we should protect our pure heart from being polluted. Only when we have a complete and rational understanding of the real society, can we have wisdom and ability, and know what attitude and method we should use to deal with and deal with (whether it is to people, things or things), can we achieve perfection.
The homonym of the Four Heavenly Kings is also called good weather, implying that the grain is abundant and the world is peaceful.
Behind Maitreya Bodhisattva is Weituo Bodhisattva with black mouth and black face, majestic manner, hands together, and God's pestle lying horizontally. Weituo is the Dharma protector of the Buddha, and weituotian is famous for his good walking and flying among the Dharma protectors. It is said that during Sakyamuni's nirvana, the gods and the kings divided the Buddha's cremated relic and went back to build their own pagodas to support them. Weituo also got a Buddha's tooth and was preparing to go back to heaven. A quick ghost fish in troubled waters, steals a pair of Buddha's Tooth Relic and runs away. Weituo catches up with the ghost and takes back the Buddhist relic. The gods and kings praised Wei Tuo for his ability to expel evil spirits and protect Buddhism. Therefore, Weituo is known as the Dharma protector Bodhisattva. In the temple, he is facing the Mahavira hall and the Buddha of Sakyamuni to protect the three treasures of Buddhism. In addition, in a temple, the size of the temple can be distinguished by looking at the direction of Weituo's pestle: if Weituo's pestle is carried on his shoulder, it means that the temple is a big one and can entertain monks who come here for three days for free; if Weituo's pestle is carried in his hand, it means that the temple is a medium-sized one and can entertain monks who come here for one day for free; if Weituo's pestle is carried in his hand, it means that the temple is a medium-sized one and can entertain monks who come here for one day for free On the ground, it means that the temple is a small one and can't entertain monks who come here for free.
After the completion of Yuanjue Zen forest, it is the largest temple in Northern Jiangsu. Therefore, Bodhisattva Weituo in the temple of heavenly king is just like the above image, with black mouth and black face, majestic manner, hands together, and God's pestle lying horizontally.
Jushi building
In the later period of Yuanjue temple construction, in order to meet the needs of tourists, a hotel level Jushi building integrating catering and accommodation will be built in the open space on the right, which can accommodate 500 people to eat and 100 people to live at the same time. At the same time, there is also a guest hall in which monks can answer questions for people.
Qinglongtan and BaiHushan
Yuanjue temple is unique in its overall design. The location design is based on the I Ching and the theory of Yin Yang and five elements. The whole temple faces south, and the water landscape is basaltic. Through the Tianwang hall, you come to the square of Daxiong hall. To the east of the square is qinglongtan, which is in charge of official transportation, with a zigzag bridge, which implies philosophy of life. To the west, the rockery, which is in charge of financial transportation, is a white tiger Mountain is a characteristic landscape of Yuanjue Zen forest. It is designed by famous artists in the south of the Yangtze River. It is made of tortoise stones in the deep mountains of Anhui Province. Where there is a mountain, there is a tiger, so this landscape is named Baihu mountain. At the back of the mountain, there are pine, bamboo and plum, accompanied by three friends, which form the highlight of Yuanjue Zen forest.
