The martyr Liu Bojian Memorial (Monument) is located in fotoushan Forest Park, an AAAA scenic spot in the north of Pingchang county. With Huayan on its back, it controls the river on the left and the fotouzhai on the right, facing jinbaoguan, Nantai mountain and laoyingzhai across the river. The terrain is high and cool, the vision is wide, the surrounding trees are green, and the environment is beautiful. More than 1000 relics of the martyrs were displayed. A monument was built in the square. Deng Xiaoping inscribed the name of the monument to martyr Liu Bojian. Former president Yang Shangkun personally attended the unveiling ceremony.

In December 2016, martyr Liu Bojian memorial hall was listed in the National Red Tourism classic scenic spot list.

Liu Bojian's life

Martyr Liu Bojian was one of the important leaders of our party and army during the first and second civil revolutionary wars, a great proletarian revolutionist, militarist and poet. Comrade Mao Zedong called him "the first person in our party and army's political work".

Leader's inscription

In 1950, in accordance with the spirit of Hu Yaobang's instruction that "the people of northern Sichuan should build a monument for martyr Liu Bojian", and with the approval of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, the martyr Liu Bojian memorial hall was built in his hometown (Pingchang county). During this period, Comrade Deng Xiaoping wrote the name of the tablet, Comrade Huang Zhen wrote the inscription, and Li Peng, Lu Dingyi, Nie Rongzhen, Ye Jianying and other central leading comrades wrote inscriptions respectively.

Layout of the Museum

The whole memorial hall is a harmonious and perfect whole composed of the memorial poem screen, stele gallery and martyr Liu Bojian's life story exhibition hall. The scenic area covers a total area of 22387 square meters, including a construction area of 4000 square meters and a greening area of 17998 square meters.

In the Museum of martyr Liu Bojian's life story, there is a white jade statue of Liu Bojian, which is dignified and lifelike. Its powerful look will leave an unforgettable impression. The indoor historical materials and cultural relics systematically show Liu Bojian's glorious life and fighting life of "life is for China, death is for China".

The monument of martyr Liu Bojian is designed by Chongqing Institute of architecture and engineering. The theme of the monument is "the revolutionary flower of the loyal spirit in full bloom, shining solemnly on all generations". The monument is 23.55 meters high. The budding flower bud in the middle of the petals expresses people's deep regret for the hero's early death. The red floor tiles show people that "North azalea, South Jiangxi blood, martyr spirit" ”On the front of the monument are eight gold-plated characters of "monument to martyr Liu Bojian" written by Comrade Xiaoping himself, and on the back of the pedestal are inscriptions written by Mr. Huang, who is over 80 years old, in three months. In the corridor on both sides of the monument are displayed photos of Comrade Chen Yun's meeting with martyr Liu Bojian's relatives and the central leadership's participation in the grand ceremony of the monument's completion.

Overlooking Pingchang county from the monument dam, it is surrounded by many mountains, surrounded by mountains and water, with beautiful scenery and endless tourists. In 1991, it was announced as a provincial cultural relic protection unit by Sichuan Provincial People's government. The monument of martyr Liu Bojian is 23.55 meters high, with a white magnolia towering into the sky to show the theme of "revolutionary flowers of loyal souls bloom and shine solemnly on all generations". The base of the monument is paved with red granite to show that the red fertile soil in Pingchang is full of talents. The body of the monument is three pure white stones with deformed petals on the columns to show the martyrs' integrity and immortal contributions to the party and the country, The square is decorated with red floor tiles to show people that "the North Sichuan azalea and the South Jiangxi blood, the spirit of the martyrs is ancient and modern". On the front of the pedestal are eight gold-plated characters of "monument to martyr Liu Bojian" inscribed by Comrade Deng Xiaoping himself. On the back of the pedestal, a 1:1 inscription written by Huang Zhen, who was in his eighties at that time, is engraved on the white marble. On the outer screen wall of the exhibition hall of Liu Bojian's life story, there are inlaid with the handwriting of Liu Bojian's "walking in chains"; in the hall, there are white jade statues of Liu Bojian, displaying more than 1000 precious photos, relics and handwritten briefs of Liu Bojian before his death.
