Biaoyingmen
Biaoying gate, one of the new gates of the Ming Dynasty city wall in Nanjing, is located next to Yueya Lake Park. It is named after its location near houbiaoying in Nanjing.
After the opening of biaoying road in 1996, the yueyahu bridge was built, which opened a gap in this section of Nanjing Ming city wall and became a fracture of the city wall.
In 2009, the Nanjing municipal government opened the biaoying gate for reconnecting and communicating with the Ming Dynasty city wall.
brief introduction
According to Yang Xiaohua, director of the Ming city wall management office, the length of the Ming city wall from Zhongshan Gate to biaoyingmen is 744 meters. Due to disrepair, the battlements and parapets of the city wall nearly 500 meters long to the south of Zhongshan Gate are seriously damaged, which is seriously inconsistent with the style of the city wall on the north side. It looks like a "bald" section from a distance. The battlements and parapet are the symbols of the Ming Dynasty city wall in Nanjing, and this section of the city wall is an important "landscape wall" in the east of the city. Therefore, the renovation project will first "renovate" the facade of the city wall, rebuild the battlements and parapet, and restore the outline of the city wall in the South and North line of Zhongshan Gate. In addition, the bricks of the cornice on the top of the city wall have peeled off and become loose due to long-term weathering, and this repair will also be replaced.
According to the repair principle of lighting city wall, the old city brick should be used for the repair and masonry of battlements and parapets. It is estimated that the amount of bricks used in the "cosmetic surgery project" is about 60000, while the current stock of city bricks is only more than 70000. After the repair, will the stock of city bricks run out? In this regard, Yang Xiaohua said that the repair will not use the bricks in stock, but rebuild the battlements and parapets by "taking bricks on the spot". "In the renovation plan, the raceway at the top of the city wall will be re paved with new town bricks, and about 100000 old town bricks will be extracted, which will be directly used to build battlements and parapets."
Rebuilding the drainage system of the city wall is another important task of the renovation project. For many years, the top of the city wall from Zhongshan Gate to biaoyingmen has not been treated with waterproof treatment, and the water seeps into the wall core for a long time, causing the wall swelling and loosening, which seriously threatens the structural stability of the city wall. At present, four or five walls have been listed as dangerous sections.
According to Yang Xiaohua, the renovation will use a combination of "rigid waterproofing" and "flexible waterproofing" to lay a waterproof layer at the bottom of the raceway. The waterproof layer is divided into upper and lower layers, and reinforced concrete and waterproof coiled materials are laid respectively to prevent water from seeping into the wall core. In addition, the maintenance personnel will also rebuild the drainage ditch and gutter of the city wall, so that the water can be drained out of the wall smoothly.
For the wall swelling and loosening due to water seepage, the maintenance personnel will adopt the grouting method. First, fill the cracks and gaps on the top of the city wall with lime slurry to plug the "seepage port"; then inject mixed mortar into the wall to solidify the loose wall core and enhance the structural strength of the wall.
