history
Xizhou Township used to be the residence of Meili community of Pingpu nationality in Babu SA. In the Qing Dynasty, it was subordinate to dongluobao village in Changhua. In the ninth year of the Republic of China, the Japanese government implemented the market street village system, and then merged Jiumei district with Xiaba district and renamed it Xizhou Village. It was under the jurisdiction of Beidou County in Taichung Prefecture, and set up a village service yard in today's Xizhou village. The reason why Xizhou became a township name in the future is now established. In the 16th year of the Republic of China, Lin Benyuan sugar factory was sold to salt water port Sugar Co., Ltd., and it was directly called "Xizhou sugar factory", which will be the future "Xizhou sugar factory".
After the restoration of Taiwan, the administrative area was changed from village to Township, and the village service yard was changed to Township Office, which was under the jurisdiction of Beidou District of Taichung County. The township was divided into 19 villages. In 1968, DAZHUANGKE was divided into Rongguang village, and the township was increased to 20 villages. In 1978, Nanzhou village was merged into Xizhou village, and the township became 19 villages.
