According to the Qing Dynasty Taiwan rent survey records, pujianglun area in the second year of Yongzheng (1724) by Bo shengcan application for reclamation and development, because the nearby Shalun full of Pujiang trees, so called "pujianglun", and directly belongs to Zhanghua County Buyu West Fort, in the Qing Dynasty Guangxu 104 years (1888) under the jurisdiction of Yunlin. During the Japanese occupation period, in 1920, it was changed back to pujianglun and set up a village. Pujianglun district was merged into Tuku village. In 1942, the village was upgraded to Tuku street, Huwei County, Tainan Prefecture. In the early postwar period, the street was changed into a town, and the jurisdiction remained unchanged. It was subordinate to Tainan County. From January 23, 1946, Tuku town was divided into two parts, and Baozhong township was established.
The origin and process of Baozhong's name: in 1786, Lin shuangwen and his party members invaded Baozhong's village. Brothers Zhang Yuanqin and Zhang Mingyi summoned the villagers to resist the bandits. After several months, the bandits were unable to attack. Later, the Qing government sent Fu kang'an and his army to Taiwan to pacify the rebellion. The Zhang brothers led Xiang Yong and the Qing army to fight against the bandits. After that, the Qing government granted Zhang Yuanqin as a general judge and Zhang Mingyi as a prefectural magistrate. Because of his contribution to the defense, he gave Zhuang the name "Bao Zhong", which means "Bao Zhong".

Tai'an: formerly known as "liukuailiao", it is now Tai'an road in maming village. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, the ancestors of the surname Zhang went to Taiwan from Tongan County, Quanzhou Prefecture, Fujian Province, landed in Anping, then moved to Yuemei, Dongshi Township, and then moved to liukuailiao. It is divided into two major families. The surname of Zhang, who moved from Yuemei, is "panjingzhang" of the "qinghetang" faction, and his ancestor is Zhang Dai. He has six children, namely Zhang Hu, Zhang Qian, Zhang Pingfan, Zhang Ben and Zhang Zhen. The six children are divided into six families and live in six areas. They live in Daliao, which is located on the west side of today's liukuailiao, commonly known as "xipingliao". Later, in "linzhuliao" in the north of Zhuang village, the Zhang family, which is now "Hui'an Zhang" of qinghetang school, descended from Zhang Ben, Zhang Wangqi, Zhang Xin, zhangjiazi, Zhang wanjiao and other ethnic groups. For fear of being robbed by mountain bandits Lin shuangwen, they moved to the East of liukuailao, separated by a pond, known as "liukuailao". Zhang Benyuanshi, who served as Bao Zheng (village head) in the Japanese occupation era, registered residence registration office in 1978 and 1979, and suggested that the household office would renamed "six pieces of Laos" as "Tai'an".
Chaocuo: formerly known as Chaoyang Cuo. In the second year of Yongzheng reign of the Qing Dynasty, there was this name. In the Qing Dynasty, officials were set up to govern the Baozhong area. They were cruel and oppressive. There was a clean and chivalrous man in the official office who urged his superior not only not to be adopted, but also sent someone to pursue and kill him. This gentleman named "Chaoyang" fled to "Chaoyang cuozhuang" for his life. Later, he was found and killed. In memory of this man, the name of the villa is "Chaoyang house". Later it was simplified as "chaocuo".
Wangcuoliao: it is under the jurisdiction of chaocuo village. It is said that in the early years, wangcuoliao was divided into four parts: East, West, North and south. The flood in the 19th year of Guangxu destroyed the whole village and the old temples. After that, only about 35 families moved back to wangcuozhuang to settle down. The ancestral surname Wang is the main body, so the name of Zhuang is Wang cuoliao. There were three major floods in the 15th, 19th and 24th years of the reign of Emperor Guangxu in Qing Dynasty. In particular, in the flood of Guangxu 19, eight of the 60 villages in Buyu Xibao were abandoned, and wangcuoliao village was one of them.
Sanhe: it used to be called sanyuanliao, but now it is Sanhe road in Longyan village. It used to be the place where Fang, Zeng and other surnames gathered. They lived in three areas, not far apart. Because of the formation of three Hall rooms, it is called three pieces of Liao. After the war, the names of the villages were changed to two words. Because of the integration of the three ethnic groups and their cooperation, they were named "Sanhe" after asking the approval of the gods.
Tian Yang: during the Japanese occupation period, it was located between Dingsen village, Xiasen village, Daping lunzhuang village and Jiayao village. At that time, it had been reclaimed into vast fertile fields. Later, Jiayao village and dapinglun village were abandoned one after another, and the villagers moved to the surrounding villages. The former dingsenzhuang is now dingtianyang. Xiasenzhuang is now xiatianyang, with Zhongxin road as the boundary.
Talent: formerly known as Xiliao or youcailiao or muzhenliao. It is said that zengmuzhen, who used to live in linzhuliao, first moved to youcailiao after the village was abandoned. Therefore, after the formation of a tribe, it was called muzhenliao. Zengmuzhen had two sons, Youxi and Youcai, so some people called the village Youcai Liao or Xiliao. After the war, it was renamed Youcai village.
Beixing: also known as dingtouliao or beiliao. Their ancestors moved from yuemeizhuang, Dongshi Township, to Tongan farm, and then to Xipu, the South Bank of xinhuwei river. After the war, it was changed to "Beixing". It is a settlement in the north of Youcai village, so it is also called beiliao.
Dafu: it is the largest sugar factory in the Qing Dynasty. Because sugar makers gathered, and then formed a tribe, so it was called "Da Fu". Administrative simplification is the scope of Zhongmin village.
Longyan: because there is a large Shalun on the north side of the village, named dapinglun, winding for several kilometers, just like the legendary dragon, hence the name. In 1935, Leitai Fujiyama, President of Japan Sugar Co., Ltd., renamed dapinglun "wolongshan" and erected a stone tablet on the top of dapinglun. Now the stone tablet is located in the southwest of Tongxin Park of Huwei sugar factory.
Taihu Lake: formerly known as houbi lake. The ancestors immigrated to Taiwan from Fujian. At first, they settled in jiayaozai, Daping, and then moved to houbihu. At that time, there were only more than ten families, which were small tribes and lived on agriculture. There are seven Shalun around, which are called qixinglun. There is a lake in front and a Shalun behind, which is called houbilun. Therefore, the name of the village is houbilun. In 1930, when the Japanese built Longyan sugar factory, houbi lake was changed into "new Lake". In 1951, the name of Zhuang was changed to "Taihu Lake". It is Taihu road in Pujiang village.
Hutoucuo: most of the first settlers lived around the lake, which not only irrigated agricultural land, but also raised fish. Most of them lived in the north of the lake, which is called hutoucuo. There are three lakes in the village. From east to west, they are Touqian lake, houbi lake and Huzi lake. Quanzhuang is divided into three areas by these lakes. The easternmost area is called jiuzhuang, which is located between Touqian lake and houbi lake. It is mainly named Xu. It originally lived in huliao outside Mailiao, where it was moved in 1898 (Meiji 31, 1898) when the flood houses were destroyed. The southernmost area of houbi lake is zhongzhuangzai, which is mainly named Chen and comes from huoshaoliao in Mailiao. The westernmost area is called huzai, which is a village with many surnames. In the early stage, due to many lakes in the territory, duck industry flourished, and then gradually declined due to water pollution. Mainly pig raising and crop cultivation.
Xinhu Village: it is called "Xinhu village" because it takes the initials of "xincuozi" and "hutoucuo" in the territory.
Xincuozi: the residents originally lived in Quanzhou Cuo, Taixi Township, and moved here, so they are called "xincuozi".
