brief introduction
The main body of Shuixian temple in Xingang consists of three entrances and four halls. The four halls are Sanchuan hall, worship hall, main hall and back hall respectively. The longitudinal movement of the main body is along the secondary rooms of the halls and the water corridor. Because the components of the main body contain materials of different ages, such as Qianlong, Jiaqing, Daoguang and the early period of the restoration, it is a precious case for the study of traditional temples in Taiwan and is a representative Shuixian temple.
There are two-story reinforced concrete buildings on both sides to serve as the pilgrim building. However, the pilgrim building on the side of Hubian has been moved to an open space one hundred meters away, so you can see the whole outline of the temple. In this open space, a timber factory was originally purchased by the temple, demolished and built toilets and bathrooms. The pilgrim building on the first floor of longbian has a kindergarten and a south gate The second floor of the village office is still for accommodation. As the pilgrim building is only built to the front of the worship Pavilion, there are two pavilions on each side of the Sanchuan hall. The Dragon side is the water control Pavilion, and the tiger side is the loyalty Pavilion. There is a golden stove in front of the water control Pavilion. From the golden stove to the Xiangke building in longbian to the wall, there is a large scaffolding, which is used to hold a feast during festivals.
evolution
According to the records of temples in the 19th volume of Taiwan Fu Zhi, "the Narcissus palace was built in Bengang, Zhuluo County, in 1739." Bengang was an important trade port in central and southern Taiwan before Qianlong of Qing Dynasty. According to historical records, "merchants gathered together to carry grain goods, which was the largest coastal town of Taiwan.". It has a history of more than 240 years. In 1773, Lin Kaizhou, a Gongsheng of Bengang, proposed to raise funds for expansion. In 1803, Bengang was flooded and the temple was destroyed. In 1813, it was rebuilt in bennangang street. In the 28th year of Daoguang (1848), Jinshun, jinzhengshun and jinheshun in bennan and benbei business suburbs initiated Zhuxin association to build houdian, which has been worshipped as "Guansheng emperor" in the former Xietian palace. Statutory monuments announced after April 1997.
