Located in Taohua mountain, Shishou City, Hubei Province, it is an important red tourist attraction along the border of Hunan and Hubei. The origin of the name
In October 1930, Deng Zhongxia and he long led the second Red Army Corps to the south. The headquarters of the Corps was located in tiaoguan. The troops were carrying out intensive military expansion activities in the area, making full preparations for the war. One day, he long, Deng Zhongxia, Zhou Yiqun and their entourage rode to Taohua mountain to inspect the expansion of the army. They rode to the tiger's paw. They saw red flags fluttering here. People were crowded and bustling. They came forward to check the situation and found that it was the people of Taohua mountain who had selected a group of recruits from the red guards to support the Red Army's southern expedition. Historical development
In December 1927, Li Hengjiu and Qu Yangchun, the leaders of Shishou workers' and peasants' revolutionary army, led more than 300 rioters to attack Tashi post from jiufogang. When passing by, rioters Liu daomin, Yang Laoliu and others scraped the bark off the yellow core tree and wrote "fight local tyrants and divide the fields!" And so on. This is the first time that revolutionary slogans appear in Taohua mountain area.
In March 1928, Zhou Yiqun, the person in charge of Xiangexi special committee, came to Taohua mountain and selected huangxinshu as the gathering place to establish the first underground Party branch in Taohua mountain area headed by Fu Chaozheng.
In October 1930, on the eve of the second Red Army's southern expedition, the small mound where Huang Xinshu was was was an important training ground. In March 1974, the then Jingzhou administrative office listed the Red Army tree as a key cultural relic and allocated 15000 yuan to build the memorial Pavilion. On June 3, 1985, according to the will, a part of the ashes of lieutenant general Dun Xingyun, former deputy commander of the armored forces of the Chinese people's Liberation Army and member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference, were buried under the Red Army tree. In 1999, the Red Army tree was listed as the patriotic education base of Hubei Province.
