.
hydrographic features
On the east side of Gulei port, the bottom topography is gentle and the sediment is Sandy. Haicheng tide is irregular semidiurnal tide with an average tidal range of 1.35 M. the tidal current is irregular semidiurnal tide reciprocating flow with more north-south flow direction. The maximum velocity of rising lake is 0.87 M / s and that of falling tide is 0.82 M / s. on the west side of Gulei port, it is irregular semidiurnal tide bay with an average tidal range of 2.3 M The diurnal current is very weak in most areas except the estuary and the channel. The rising current flows to the top of the bay along the longitudinal axis of the channel, while the falling current flows to the estuary in the opposite direction
.
Geology and geomorphology
Gulei port is located on the east side of Dongshan Bay. Gulei peninsula is a long and narrow T-shaped peninsula. It is a marine plain landform between platforms in the north. Except for sporadic low hills, most areas are relatively flat. The terrain in the middle is very narrow, the narrowest part is only a few hundred meters. The terrain in the south is long and narrow, mainly mountainous and hilly areas. Low hills more than 100 meters high are formed The natural barrier blocks the strong and normal wind direction, which makes Dongshan Bay a good windbreak anchorage; the original landform basically belongs to the alluvial first or alluvial second terrace area, and part of it belongs to the residual slope platform area
