Sanya Meishan revolutionary martyrs cemetery is the patriotic education base of Sanya City, located in the west side of shigouxi reservoir, Meishan village, Yacheng Town, Sanya City. The management unit is Sanya Civil Affairs Bureau.
brief introduction
In 1982, the people's Government of Ya county (now Sanya City) raised funds to build the martyrs cemetery in Meishan old district. The cemetery covers an area of 45.05 Mu from south to north. In 1990, the stone road was expanded to 364 meters. There are octagonal pavilion, Monument and cemetery in the cemetery. Inside the pavilion stands a tablet 1.5 meters high and 1 meter wide. The inscriptions are engraved with the epitaph of the martyrs' cemetery in the old area of Meishan. The epitaph outlines the glorious history of the people in the old Meishan area who, under the correct leadership of the party, have persistently fought with the enemies at home and abroad for a long time, killed them bravely, and consolidated and developed the base area. Historical base
In February 1939, the Japanese invaded Yaxian. Taking Meishan as an anti Japanese guerrilla base, the Yaxian County Committee of the CPC led the whole county in the struggle against the aggressors. In June 1942, Meishan people launched a full swing of Anti Japanese and national salvation movement. The Japanese army tried to put out the Anti Japanese fire in Meishan area and carried out cruel military repression on the Meishan people. The Meishan people were indomitable and fought bravely and tenaciously.
In Meishan village, there is also the Meishan Revolutionary History Museum in Sanya
The museum is located in the campus of Meishan middle school, covering an area of more than 300 square meters. In the form of pictures, articles and objects, the museum comprehensively shows the turbulent and magnificent revolutionary struggle process of Meishan area and even the whole Ya county.
Wei Wei, consultant and famous writer of Beijing Military Region, inscribed the name of "Meishan revolutionary history museum"; he Jingzhi, former Minister of culture and famous poet, inscribed the name of "Meishan library"; general Zhou Kunren, former political commissar of General Logistics Department of Chinese people's Liberation Army; Wang Fuyu, Deputy Secretary of Guizhou provincial Party committee; major general Zhou Erjun, former director of Political Department of National Defense University, etc.
On the opening day, the provincial and Sanya Municipal departments also presented Meishan library with a number of books and audio-visual products. It is reported that Sanya will vigorously explore the historical and cultural heritage in various forms, by various means and in all directions, enrich the historical and cultural content, and create a unique red cultural brand in Meishan.
