Lingen Hall

Lingen hall is located at No.4, Lane 69, Shijia street, Gaoqiao Town, Pudong New Area. It has a history of about 100 years. At first, it rented houses for religious activities. It was introduced into Qingpu by American missionary Li Silun. In 1930, Puxi Hongde church purchased land and built the Church (the present site). Covering an area of 5.9 Mu and a construction area of 349 square meters, it is under the leadership of the Chinese Christian Songjiang pastoral Supervision Association (later changed to Methodist Association). It was opened in 1985 and rebuilt in 1998.

In 1883, it was introduced into Qingpu by American missionary Li Silun. In 1910, the priest Dai Yangqing was introduced to Liantang. In the early days of its founding, it rented houses of the Xuan and Cao families and set up missionaries to preach gods and hold religious meetings. In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), he bought land in Xishou of Yan'an Academy (now Yan'an primary school in Liantang Town), which was the former site of the central military garrison Department of Yuanjiang, Jiangjiang and qingfenfang counties before the bid was raised. He built a lecture hall and a two-story double open building. A number of peace rooms were used as chapel, professor's room, office and residence for pastor's family members. It covers an area of 5.9 mu, with a construction area of 349 square meters. It belongs to the Chinese Christian Songjiang Leaders of the pastoral Supervision Association (later changed to Methodist Association).

The former Qingpu Christian Church was divided into five sects, namely Anglican Church, Methodist Church, Apostolic Faith Church, lingliang Evangelical Church and Christian meeting place. The Christian believers in Liantang belong to two sects: the Christian Church in the west of Yan'an primary school, commonly known as East Jesus church, belongs to the Methodist Church; the Christian Church in youchebang, commonly known as West Jesus church, belongs to the Apostolic Faith Church (this church belongs to the self-supporting church and is not subject to foreign missions).

In 1944, a church sermon was built at the west end of Shunde bridge (behind the original shantaimihang), covering an area of 666 square meters and a building area of 239 square meters. In 1950, he bought 3.5 mu of land in huntangbang to build the church. The main church is located in Suzhou, which belongs to the system of the Apostle faith society. Shen Shuben, the pastor of the main church, is also in charge of the church.

After 1958, the East and West Jesuit churches stopped gathering, and the houses were expropriated. In 1986, the policy was implemented to return 1.058 mu of land and 349 square meters of houses on the foundation of the original East Jesuit Church as meeting places. Therefore, the former Methodist Church and the Apostolic Faith Church established a United Church. On October 21, the hall was restored. In 1998, the name of Liantang Lingen hall was changed. In November 1998, the church land was returned to the government again, totaling 3.15 mu. In January 1999, the construction of the new hall was started, with a construction area of 891 square meters, auxiliary houses of 687.6 square meters and a cost investment of 1.18 million yuan. On October 21, 2000, the new hall was opened. There were 3650 believers in the ceremony, including 1491 believers, including more than 700 moodoo believers and 791 baptized believers. There are more than 700 people attending the service on Sunday morning. There is a prayer meeting on Thursday morning, a choir practice on Wednesday evening, and a Bible Search meeting on Saturday evening. There is communion service on the third Sunday of every month, and more than 480 people receive communion. Every year, from April to June, they hold a Mukden class, and in June they are baptized to join the church ceremony. Since 1998, Christmas activities have been held on Christmas day and night with more than 1000 participants. Since the Spring Festival in 1989, the Spring Festival spiritual training meeting has been held every year during the Spring Festival, generally for 3-5 days, with more than 3-5 thousand believers.
