Jiangjin Middle School of Chongqing City, located on the Bank of the Yangtze River and at the foot of Dingshan mountain, is one of the first batch of key middle schools in Chongqing.

The school was founded in 1906. In the next period of 1953, Sichuan provincial government and Provincial Department of education identified the school as a provincial key middle school. In 1997, Chongqing was directly under the central government, and the school was renamed Chongqing Jiangjin middle school. In 1999, the school was identified as one of the first batch of key middle schools in Chongqing. In 1998, the construction of Chongqing model high school was started, and it passed the acceptance of Chongqing model high school in 2003.

As of 2012, the school covers an area of 146300 square meters, with a building area of 97800 square meters, 440 teaching staff, 106 teaching classes (including 70 high school classes) and more than 7200 students.

School history

The Qing Dynasty

Founded in 1906, the school enrolled three junior high school students and five senior high school students. The course integrated Western learning and physical arts. Cai Chengyun, the county magistrate of Jiangjin, first donated 300 liang of Lian Yin and raised more than 20000 liang of Bai Yin to set up the school. In August of the same year, he put on record and approved the establishment of the middle school, which was named "official Jiangjin middle school".

In 1909, the school had nine teachers.

In 1910, Sichuan province changed the name of the school to Jiangjin County Secondary School, and issued a school seal. It was put into use on April 22, and the school anniversary was determined accordingly.

the Republic of China era

In the autumn of the 14th year of the Republic of China (1925), the school changed to a new educational system, namely "633" system.

In 1938, in order to avoid the air raid, the teachers and students moved the school to Youxi, Jiangjin, and moved back in 1945.

In 1941, the school opened a high school with a three-year schooling.

In 1942, the school was named Jiangjin County middle school.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China

On November 28, 1949, after the liberation of Jiangjin, the people's government took over Jiangjin middle school.

In 1953, the school was built on the Xiguan hillside of the county seat, covering an area of 105700 square meters (called the new district as the branch, the original site as the headquarters), with a total area of 139700 square meters. It was one of the middle schools with a huge area in Sichuan Province at that time.

In March 1953, the Sichuan provincial government renamed the school as Jiangjin No.1 Middle School in Sichuan Province.

In the next period of 1953, the Provincial Department of education determined Jiangjin No.1 middle school as the provincial key middle school (14 in the whole province).

At the beginning of 1954, Chongqing municipal government appropriated special funds to build a new teaching area at the foot of Dingshan mountain outside the West City (No. 816 South Main Road, the former site is now the living area for teachers and workers).

In 1955, some classes of the school entered the new site.

In 1960, Sichuan provincial government decided to keep only Chengdu No.4 Middle School (now Shishi middle school), Jiangjin No.1 middle school and Chongqing No.3 middle school (now Nankai Middle School) as provincial key middle schools.

During the cultural revolution, schools were seriously disturbed and destroyed.

In 1980, the school was once again identified as the provincial key middle school. In the same year, the smelter occupied the school building and built a ladder classroom and general affairs building with a construction area of 995 square meters; the school headquarters was restored and a monument to the martyrs and Nie Shuai's inscription screen were built.

In the next issue of 1984, it was renamed Jiangjin County Middle School in Sichuan Province.

In the 1990s, the state increased investment in education and allocated more than 5 million yuan to build the second teaching building with an area of 5000 square meters and the boys' dormitory building with an area of 4100 square meters; built the canteen and girls' apartment with a construction area of 4500 square meters; built the comprehensive building and standard swimming pool with a construction area of 4700 square meters and 3200 square meters.

In 1997, Chongqing was directly under the central government, and the school was renamed Chongqing Jiangjin middle school.

In 1998, the school was approved as a model high school construction unit.

In 1999, the school was identified as the first batch of key middle schools in Chongqing.

In 2000, the school invested 1.2 million yuan to build Fangji teaching building, with a construction area of 3780 square meters; each class was equipped with multimedia system and 29 inch color TV, realizing Internet class access, building a number of language laboratories and computer rooms, improving the campus network and CCTV system.

In 2002, 8 million yuan was raised to build 2300 square meters of gymnasium and 8500 square meters of student apartments.

In 2003, the school passed the acceptance of Chongqing model high school.

It was identified as a key cultural relic unit in Chongqing in March 1992, and the branch is now the main teaching, living and sports area of the school. In 2011, there were 1577 people taking part in the college entrance examination, 680 of them were key undergraduates, 50% of them were science majors, 45.9% were liberal arts majors, and 131 of them scored more than 600.

 

In 2012, the college entrance examination, the school undergraduate online rate reached 99.5%. There are 717 people on the line, including 21 on the key undergraduate line of art and sports students, and the online rate of fresh graduates is 45.5%.
