Zhongyuan Petroleum Exploration Bureau of Sinopec (hereinafter referred to as Zhongyuan Oilfield) is a large state-owned enterprise integrating petroleum engineering and social services, headquartered in Puyang City, Henan Province. Petroleum engineering mainly serves for oil and gas exploration and development in Dongpu depression, Puguang gas field and Inner Mongolia exploration area in the oil field; mainly serves for Sinopec, PetroChina northwest, North China, northeast, southwest and other major battlefields in China; mainly distributes in Africa, South America, Middle East, Central Asia, Southeast Asia and other key regional markets in the international market, and is an international oil company such as Aramco and Halliburton Division of strategic partners. After years of research and innovation, a series of supporting technologies, such as deep horizontal well drilling, high acid gas field gas drilling and acid fracturing perforation production, desert and swamp geophysical exploration, complex fractured reservoir logging, unconventional oil and gas reservoir multi-stage fracturing, have been gradually formed, with the design and construction capacity of complex terrain surface engineering construction, large gas processing and refining equipment. Zhongyuan Oilfield Branch of Sinopec (hereinafter referred to as Zhongyuan Oilfield) is mainly engaged in exploration and development, oil and gas chemical industry, oil and gas sales and other businesses. The headquarters of the company is located in Puyang City, Henan Province. The main exploration and development areas include Dongpu depression, Puguang gas field and Inner Mongolia exploration area. In recent years, the oilfield has always adhered to the guidance of the scientific outlook on development, strengthened scientific and technological innovation, management innovation and talent team construction, vigorously promoted the benefit development of Dongpu old area, increased production and efficiency of Puguang gas field, and increased reserves and production in Inner Mongolia exploration area, forming a good pattern of joint development of three oil and gas production bases. It has produced 131 million tons of crude oil and 47.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas. In 2011, the proven oil and gas reserves were 12.57 million tons, and the oil and gas equivalent production was 11.12 million tons, ranking among the 10 million ton oil and gas fields. The branch company realized a revenue of 26.945 billion yuan.

Dongpu sag, covering an area of 5300 square kilometers, spans Henan and Shandong provinces, with a total proven oil reserves of 593 million tons and natural gas reserves of 136.502 billion cubic meters. In recent years, the oilfield adheres to the main line of reservoir management, deepens the fine exploration of complex fault block groups and structural lithologic reservoirs, and continues to carry out the fine injection production adjustment centered on well groups. Puguang gas field is located in Northeast Sichuan, with an area of 1116 square kilometers and proven natural gas geological reserves of 412.2 billion cubic meters. It is the largest and most abundant marine carbonate gas field with high content of H2S and CO2 in China. The gas field was fully put into operation in June 2010, with a total of 39 development wells, 16 gas gathering stations, 6 sets of purification combined units and a dedicated railway line for sulfur export, forming an annual production capacity of 10 billion cubic meters, a purification capacity of 12 billion cubic meters and a sulfur production capacity of 2.4 million tons. In 2011, it produced 8.049 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 1.6 million tons of sulfur, making it the largest sulfur production base in China.

There are 21 exploration right blocks in Inner Mongolia exploration area, covering an area of 35600 square kilometers. In recent years, the exploration offensive in Inner Mongolia exploration area has shown a good development prospect. In Baiyinchagan and Chagan depressions, 22.1969 million tons of oil reserves have been proved, breakthroughs have been made in low temperature super heavy oil thermal recovery test, and good progress has been made in Erlian Zhongkang cooperation block.
