Chongqing Yangtse River Bridge, also known as "Shibanpo Yangtze River Bridge", is a river crossing channel connecting Yuzhong District and Nan'an District in Chongqing, China. It is located on the Yangtze River waterway. It is the first super large urban highway bridge in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and an important part of the main urban road in the southwest of Chongqing.
Chongqing Yangtze River Bridge started construction on November 26, 1977 and opened to traffic on January 26, 1981;
The construction of the double track bridge was started on December 28, 2003 and opened to traffic on September 26, 2006.
Chongqing Yangtze River Bridge starts from Shibanpo overpass in the north, crosses Yangtze River Waterway in the upper and huanggedu overpass in the South; the original old bridge is 1120 meters long, and the double track bridge is 1103.5 meters long; the road is a two-way eight Lane urban trunk road with a design speed of 60 km / h.
Construction process
On November 26, 1977, the construction of Chongqing Yangtze River Bridge started.
On July 1, 1980, Chongqing Yangtze River Bridge was opened to traffic.
On January 26, 1981, Chongqing Yangtze River Bridge passed the completion acceptance.
On December 28, 2003, the foundation design and pier construction of Chongqing Yangtze River Bridge were completed, and the construction of its double track bridge began.
On December 2, 2005, Chongqing Municipal People's government organized relevant experts to review the work outline of "model test and Research on steel concrete joint of main bridge", and completed the audit work of Chongqing Yangtze River Bridge project scheme.
On May 26, 2006, Chongqing Yangtze River Bridge was closed;
On May 27, Chongqing Yangtze River Bridge completed the closure project of the double track bridge, and the double track bridge was fully connected;

Bridge location
Chongqing Yangtze River Bridge is located in the southwest of Chongqing City, connecting Yuzhong District and Nan'an District. It is about 2km away from Caiyuanba Yangtze River Bridge in the West and 2.7km away from dongshuimen Yangtze River Bridge in the East. It starts from Shibanpo overpass in the north, crosses Yangtze River Waterway in the upper and huanggedu overpass in the south. The line of the bridge passes Shibanpo overpass in the north, then connects Yangtze River Binjiang Road, Nanqu road and Shihuang tunnel in the north and huanggeduli overpass in the south After that, it connects Nanbin road and Jiangnan Avenue.

The root of the bridge is 8 meters high at the end of the side span, the main span is 11 meters, and the height of the end corbel beam is 3.2 meters. The span of the hanging beam is 35 meters, the total length is 35.9 meters, the height of the middle beam is 3 meters, and the thickness of the web is 0.18 meters. The diameter of longitudinal and transverse prestressed high-strength steel tendons is 24 mm, with a total of 5 wires; the longitudinal prestressed steel tendons of large T-frame beams are 600, transverse 244 and vertical 876; the longitudinal prestressed steel tendons of small T-frame beams are 544, transverse 158 and vertical 696. The concrete grade of box girder is grade 400.
The total length of the double track bridge is 1103.5m, with the span arrangement of (87.75 + 4 × 138 + 56 + 174 + 133.75m), in which the main span is 330m, the full width is 19m, the bottom plate is 9.0m, the top plate is 19m, and the flange on both sides is 5m; the middle of the main span is provided with a 103m long steel box girder, with two ends at each end The steel-concrete joint section is 2.5 meters long, and the total length of steel box girder is 108 meters; the deck of steel box girder is 18 mm thick, with 8 mm stiffeners and 640 mm spacing. The nominal diameter of prestressed cable steel strand is 15.24 mm, 7 wires in total, and the standard value of tensile strength is 1860 MPa.

On January 1, 2018, Chongqing Municipal People's government cancelled the collection of road and bridge tolls in the main urban area, including Chongqing Yangtze River Bridge.
Traffic matters
From January 8 to January 9, 2020 (00:00 to 06:00), the main bridge of Chongqing Yangtze River Bridge (from the south bank to Yuzhong) is closed, and the double line bridge (from Yuzhong to the south bank) has one-way double way transfer traffic.

At the beginning of the construction of Chongqing Yangtze River Bridge, the following construction technologies were used:

Bridge inscription
On July 1, 1980, Chongqing Yangtze River Bridge was opened to traffic. Ye Jianying's inscription was set on both sides of the north bridge.
"Spring, summer, autumn and winter"
Chongqing Yangtze River Bridge has four statues on both sides of the bridgeheads in Yuzhong District and Nan'an District, named "spring, summer, autumn and winter". They are designed and created by Ye Yushan, former president of Sichuan Academy of fine arts. Each statue is 8 meters high and made of aluminum alloy. In 2019, they were selected as the third batch of Chongqing cultural relics protection units.
