Huang ancestral hall
Huang's ancestral hall, also known as Huang's library, is a place where Chinese ancestors or sages are sacrificed. No. 36, Huancheng West Road, Huicheng District, Huizhou City, Guangdong Province, is the ancestral hall of the Huang family in Guishan county (now part of Huiyang City, Huidong County, Huicheng District and Bao'an District). It was built in 1842 in the reign of emperor guangrenyin of the Qing Dynasty and later changed into Huang's library.
layout
It is a three way courtyard with a total construction area of 1000 square meters. On the left side of the courtyard, there are three way rooms connected by side doors of alleys. Five rooms wide and three rooms deep. On both sides of the gate, a bow shaped stone Fang was placed in front of the second room and the Ming room. The stone horn was used on both sides under the Fang. The stone lion was placed on the Fang, and a bucket of three liters of arch was placed on the lion. The granite gate is 3.6 meters high and 2.05 meters wide. There are four characters of "Huang's Library" on the front gate, regular script and Yin engraving, 50x60cm each; couplets "the first of xunliang" and "the best of filial piety in family", running script and Yin engraving, 25x40cm each, with elegant and fluent font, which has high calligraphy value. On both sides of the entrance are a pair of stone piers with a height of 63 cm and a width of 54 cm. The cloister connecting the first and second entrances consists of three parts, with a hard Hill roof in the middle and a rolling shed roof in the front and back. This practice not only expands the depth of the front patio, but also appears to be full of changes. The purlin is supported by a combined component composed of octagonal melon ridge and plum blossom bucket. The component is exquisitely carved and has local characteristics. The corridor is decorated with various patterns. The whole building uses cloth gray tiles, while the green glazed tiles are used for trimming, which is solemn and simple. The carving process in the building is smooth, the stone lion is vivid and lifelike, the wooden structure is camel pier, and the bucket is exquisite and elegant. There are many murals with ancient sages on the wall. Exquisite carving skills and immortal artistic value fully reflect the outstanding talent and artistic creativity of the ancient Chinese working people. The central hall of the ancestral hall was originally dedicated to Huang's ancestors and held the spring and Autumn Festival (before the Anti Japanese War) every year. Spring Festival is before Qingming Festival, Autumn Festival is before Chongyang Festival.
According to incomplete statistics, there were 290 candidates in Guishan County in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, including 18 candidates in the Huang family and one candidate in the late Qing Dynasty. Some of the clansmen went to Zhoutong, zhoufen, Zhixian, Xiancheng, Jiaoyu and Qianzong. In modern times, there are more talented people, many of whom are teachers, commissioners and county heads, and many of them have senior titles such as professors and chief engineers.
present situation
There are two stone tablets in Huangjia ancestral hall: one is the "preface to the construction of Huang's ancestral hall in Guiyi" written by Huang Bin, Huang's descendant, Juren and Longmen County, who founded the ancestral hall in 1842 of the Qing Dynasty; the other is the "stele added to the memorial tablet" in 1927 of the Republic of China. These two stone tablets are good historical materials for people to study the origin, distribution, clan rules and clan cases of the Huang family in Guishan county.
In July 1990, the temple was announced as a cultural relic protection unit in Huizhou City.
