Zhuanta hutong is one of the hutongs with the longest history in Beijing. It is also one of the hutongs with less damage and better preservation. Zhuanta hutong is named after a bluish gray brick tower with octagonal seven eaves at the east entrance of the Hutong. This tower is called "yuanwansong old man tower", which was built in memory of Wansong old man. In modern history, some famous people have lived in Zhuanta Hutong, such as Lu Xun, Zhang Henshui and Liu Shaoqi.
