Fuyang museum is located at 339 Qinghe East Road, Yingzhou District, Fuyang City, Anhui Province. Founded in 1958, the Museum covers an area of 10000 square meters and the main building covers an area of more than 3000 square meters. It is a comprehensive historical museum at the local and municipal levels and a national second-class Museum. It receives more than 100000 visitors annually.
As of 2018, Fuyang Museum has collected 125000 pieces of cultural relics and 2580 sets of precious cultural relics, including 47 sets of national first-class cultural relics, 230 sets of second-class cultural relics and 2303 sets of third-class cultural relics. The collection is mainly characterized by local historical relics, with a complete range of categories, which can be divided into more than ten categories, such as paleontological fossils, bronzes, ceramics, bamboo slips, jade, calligraphy and painting.
Historical evolution
In 1958, the construction of Fuyang museum was completed, with nine special exhibitions including ceramics and ruyinhou.
In 1963, Guo Moruo was invited to write the title of "Fuyang special area Museum of Anhui Province".
In 1988, the State Planning Commission, the State Administration of cultural relics, the Provincial Department of culture and the local government of Fuyang jointly invested in the site selection and reconstruction of the new museum on Qinghe Middle Road, covering an area of 10000 square meters.
In March 2008, Fuyang museum began to open to the public free of charge.
In 2009, Fuyang City Museum added two special exhibition halls, namely "bronze mirror Hall of past dynasties" and "jade hall".
In March 2017, the new museum of Fuyang City was opened. It is located on the west side of Zhongqing River and the north side of baliasong Road, with a total land area of 34000 square meters and a total construction area of 39000 square meters, including 30000 square meters of aboveground construction area. It is planned to open to the public by the end of 2020.
On July 1, 2019, Fuyang Museum held the first expert demonstration meeting on the exhibition design scheme of the new museum in Hefei.

The old Fuyang Museum covers an area of 10000 square meters, the main building covers an area of 3050 square meters, and the exhibition hall covers an area of 1700 square meters. There are nine exhibition halls, with three floors in the middle. In 2009, two special exhibition halls, namely "bronze mirror Hall of past dynasties" and "jade hall", were added.
Venue features
The new Fuyang Museum takes the square geometry as the main tone, which is very similar to a piece of jade in the middle after the stone is split into two pieces. The facade of the building extracts the cultural image of the inscription on the Orchid Pavilion in Fuyang, and depicts the vigorous and powerful cultural symbols on the surface. The building is an axisymmetric form in the imitation of Chinese style.

As of 2018, Fuyang Museum has a collection of 125000 pieces and 2580 sets of precious cultural relics, including 47 sets of national first-class cultural relics, 230 sets of second-class cultural relics and 2303 sets of third-class cultural relics, and 13 national precious ancient books published by the State Council. The collection includes more than ten categories of bronzes, pottery, porcelain, jade, stone tools, calligraphy and painting, and paleontological fossils. Among them, the bronze statue of dragon and tiger in Shang Dynasty, the bronze measuring instrument of "yingdafu" in Chu Dynasty in Warring States period, the Han bamboo slips in Fuyang, the bronze plate in early Han Dynasty, the bronze anti evil in Eastern Han Dynasty, and the bronze mirror of "Jingtian" in Xinmang are rare cultural relics with high historical, artistic and scientific value.

Since its establishment, Fuyang Museum has held nearly 100 large-scale exhibitions, such as "Fuyang civilization history exhibition", "Fuyang reform and opening up 20 years achievement exhibition", "Fuyang 50 years achievement exhibition", "Fuyang cultural relics exhibition", "Fuyang shuanggudui Western Han Ruyin Marquis tomb unearthed cultural relics exhibition", "collection bronze Exhibition". Among them, "Fuyang cultural relics exhibition" includes "ceramics hall", "cultural relics exhibition unearthed from the tomb of Ruyin marquis in the Western Han Dynasty", "cultural relics exhibition unearthed from the tomb group of nungtai", "calligraphy and painting Hall of Ming and Qing Dynasties", etc.
In October 2017, Fuyang Museum launched an exhibition of anti-corruption works.
On February 28, 2018, Fuyang Museum held lantern riddle guessing activities.
From January 18, 2019 to March 20, 2019, Fuyang museum will hold an exhibition of "Jiangdong style" ink and wash painting works for Interlibrary exchange.
From March 23, 2019 to May 20, 2019, Anhui intangible cultural heritage Fengyang Phoenix Painting Exhibition was held in Fuyang Museum.
On October 18, 2019, the Museum of Fuyang City will hold an exhibition of Zhao's clay figurine works, namely "clay figurine kneads life and five colored sculptures create true soul".
Honors
In 1996, Fuyang Museum "Fuyang cultural relics exhibition" was named "excellent exhibition of Anhui Province".
In 2018, Fuyang museum was rated as the third batch of national second-class museums.

Opening Hours
1. From May 1 to October 31, every Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00-20:30, stop entering the museum after 19:30.
2. From November 1 to April 30 of the next year, the museum will stop entering after 9:00-20:00 and 19:00 every Tuesday to Sunday.
3. It is closed every Monday (except legal holidays, small holidays and golden week), new year's Eve and the first day of the first month.
