Facing the Snake Island in the northwest, liwubi island is the largest island of Lugu Lake. On one side of the island is stalagmite, which becomes a natural wharf. A winding path leads directly to the top of the island. There are many azaleas and wild cherry trees beside the road. At the end of the flowers is liwubi temple, a yellow Lama Temple. The temple was built in 1634 AD and rebuilt in 1989. There are statues of Buddha, such as Sakyamuni, Guanyin, qianshouqianyan Buddha, zongkaba, the guru of Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism and his two disciples, Dharma protector and so on. Every Tibetan festival or Buddhist Festival, believers along the lake will come here to pray for blessings and pay homage. The incense is very prosperous and lively. In addition, there is a white pagoda on the island, which is the Lingta of ayunshan, the head of Mosuo chieftain's office in Yongning. Ayunshan was once a famous Mosuo political figure in Yunnan, Sichuan and Tibet.
Liwubi Island
Liwubi island is located in the central and southern part of Lugu Lake, which is divided into two parts by turbu Peninsula, and faces Snake Island in the northwest. It's about half an hour from Luoshui village to the island. On one side of the island is a stalagmite, which becomes a natural wharf. A winding path leads directly to the top of the island. There are many rhododendrons and wild cherry trees beside the road. At the end of the flower cluster is liwubi temple, a Tibetan Buddhist temple. There is a white tower on the top of the island. Liwubi Island, shewao island and Lige island are called Lugu Lake and Penglai three islands.
Liwubi Temple
The temple on liwubi island belongs to the Yellow Lama Temple, which was built in 1634 ad. In the early 1960s, it was destroyed as a product of feudal superstition for well-known reasons. In 1989, under the advocacy of Luo sangyishi living Buddha, the County Tourism Bureau was responsible for the implementation of the reconstruction, funded by the government and invested by the masses, which was completed in December 1999. The Buddhist statues and tools worshipped in the temple were voluntarily raised by local religious people. In the temple, there are statues of Sakyamuni, Guanyin, qianshouqianyan Buddha, zongkaba, the guru of Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism and his two disciples, Dharma protector and other Buddhas, as well as the living Buddha statue of luosangyishi, which was made by Bujia at the initiative of the Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism and akgexi in Luoshui village. On the front door, there is a plaque "Yuchi Qionglou", which is written in Tibetan by living Buddha luosang and translated into Chinese by famous calligrapher Shangwen. Every Tibetan festival or Buddhist Festival, the Management Committee of liwubi temple takes the lead to hold large-scale Buddhist activities here, especially the Banzhai jiyanfa meeting, which starts on the second day of the sixth month of the lunar calendar. During the meeting, religious people along the lake and religious people from Yongning, labo, Sichuan qiansuo, zuoshuo and other places voluntarily participate, with more than 100 people for a long time. In addition to kowtowing tens of thousands or even hundreds of millions of times, they also carried out activities such as no food, no speech and so on. Many old people take part in it year after year, and don't give up until they can't support it. By participating in this kind of ascetic practice, we pray to avoid the process of reincarnation into a speechless, food free species in the samsara of life and death, and to replace this process through this world's ascetic practice. According to people, although Liwu was smaller than the temple in the past, it was famous. Whenever there is a disaster in the villages around the lake or when the world is dying, it will show people. For example, the Buddha's hat off, the Buddha's step down from the Buddha platform and other amazing things have all happened here, so today, after the reconstruction, there are more and more joss sticks. In addition, there are eminent monks in the temple who often practice and serve the Buddha here. They also test the good and bad fortune of the local people and check the star books from time to time. Many injured souls are pacified here. It can be said that the temple is not big, and if there are Immortals, there will be spirits!
Manager's pagoda
After the pilgrimage to the temple, continue to walk more than 100 meters to the top of the island, where a white pagoda stands. This is the pagoda of ayunshan, the chief of Tusi mansion of Mosuo in Yongning. A Yunshan, born on February 24, 1871, is a famous Mosuo political figure in Yunnan, Sichuan and Tibet. After he took the post of chief executive, he won the recognition and conviction of the people inside and outside the ethnic group and the neighboring rulers with his outstanding management ability and diplomatic ability. In the middle and late period of his reign, the dilapidated Tusi mansion became an empty decoration, and all the political, armed and religious activities in Yongning Mosuo area He became an outstanding Mosuo ruler in history. His merits and achievements have been passed down to the present. In memory of him, after his death, the custom of massaging shuttle people was cremated, and his ashes were collected in the grave as an exception. In 1989, living Buddha Luo sangyishi, his second son, built the pagoda for later generations to look forward to and engrave the original inscription on it.
A paradise for migratory birds
Due to the abundant nutrients and moisture, the trees that originally grew on the island of libubi can grow into big trees as long as they grow here. It is like walking into the virgin forest when people go ashore by boat and enter the shade. Because of the best vegetation of shengwanyanshu, it was still a paradise for migratory birds before the mid-1960s. There were thousands of egrets and grey herons, and they multiplied on the dense island. The local Mosuo people didn't have the custom of preying on birds such as swans and ducks, and no one ever disturbed their paradise. Every afternoon, the whole island was filled with the roaring of egrets In the village, under the sun, the egrets are like snow-white azaleas blooming. The whole island is like a mountain full of flowers. What a beautiful picture of harmony between man and nature! However, in the 1960s, in order to develop the militia's production base, the whole island was shaved bald overnight, and the fire of several days and nights burned the living, green and gem like island into withered charcoal. After several days and nights of whining, the egrets, who have been living here freely for generations, finally bid farewell to Lugu Lake. This is the tragedy of man and nature in their relationship. As long as we pay a little attention, we can see that the shade that still exists today is just the branches growing from the roots of the trees that were destroyed in those years.
