Beichuan Earthquake Memorial Hall
On the morning of December 28, 2010, the construction of Beichuan Earthquake Memorial was officially started in Renjiaping, Qushan Town, Beichuan County. After the completion of the Beichuan earthquake site protection work, the Beichuan Earthquake Memorial Hall, the site of the old county and Tangjiashan barrier lake will be taken as the carrier, and the tourism industry will be built around memorial, science popularization, patriotism education, Qiang cultural heritage and unique natural landscape.
Design planning
The Beichuan Earthquake Memorial Building Plan named "crack" was initially selected from 36 plans designed by Shanghai Tongji University in early 2010. It passed three expert reviews and nearly 200000 people participated in the design proposal soliciting activities. Finally, it was approved by Sichuan provincial Party committee and Sichuan provincial government on December 6.
According to the plan, the Beichuan Earthquake Memorial is located in Renjiaping, Qushan Town, Beichuan, which is integrated with the original Beichuan middle school site. The project covers an area of 142300 square meters, with an estimated total investment of 230 million yuan. The main project is expected to be completed before May 12, 2011.
Architectural features
The "crack" memorial hall is composed of three parts: Memorial trail, square and single building. Through the cutting and lifting of the ground, it forms the main building volume, and then extends outward through the sinking square and trail.
The exterior of the memorial hall uses the sharp edge of the intersection of the textured rusted steel plate and the green vegetation on the roof, showing the building wall when the earth is torn apart. The transverse extension of the architectural form with long triangular windows further strengthens the shape tension. The "crack" footpath between the main hall and the auxiliary hall is paved with red sandstone and divided by steel plate to form a unified whole with the building facade. The woods and vegetation beside the square inject more life into the original dignified place and give more meaning to memory and hope. However, he is suspected of plagiarizing the Vietnam War Memorial.
Memorial Badge
The tourist badge of the memorial hall is for free.
