brief introduction
Ch'ang-shan Archipelago
Also ch'ang-shan ch'un-tao or Changshan Archipelago.
Islands in the southeast of Liaodong Peninsula, China. It is composed of more than 200 islands, including Dachangshan Island, xiaochangshan Island, Guanglu Island, Zhangzi Island, Haiyang Island, Shicheng Island, etc. Dachangshan island has the largest land area and the highest ocean island (388 meters above sea level). After the Russo Japanese War, it was occupied by Japan. It was recovered by the Chinese government after 1945. Changshan County was set up after 1949 and changed to Changhai County in 1954. It is an important fishing base in the north of the Yellow Sea, rich in fish, sea cucumber, oysters and so on.
Archipelago composition
Among the Changshan Islands, Dachangshan Island, Guanglu island and Shicheng Island cover an area of more than 25 square kilometers. Dachangshan Island, with an area of 31.79 square kilometers, is the largest island in the Changshan Islands and the seat of the people's Government of Changhai County. Xiaochangshan Island, Haiyang island and Zhangzi Island cover an area of about 15 square kilometers. Each of the six islands has its own subsidiary islands.
geological structure
According to the differences of geographical distribution, geological structure and landform, Changshan islands can be divided into three groups: waichangshan, lichangshan and Shicheng islands. Waichangshan archipelago includes Haiyang Island, Zhangzi Island, daluozi Island, xiaoluozi island and nantuozi Island, which are arranged from east to west. The island is composed of Sericite schist and quartzite. The mountains on the island are high and steep. The mountain pole is generally more than a hundred years old. The coast is curved, the water depth is deep and the harbor is wide. There are cliffs everywhere. For example, in the ocean island with an area of 18 square kilometers, there are more than 20 peaks with an altitude of more than 200 meters, of which the crying niangding is 388 meters high. The lichangshan archipelago consists of Dachangshan Island, xiaochangshan Island, Guanglu island and Huludao, which are also arranged from east to west. The islands are composed of quartzite, slate, phyllite and gneiss. The mountain is low and gentle, generally less than 100 meters, and scattered flat land is also distributed at the foot of the mountain and along the coast. The sand bank accounts for about 1 / 4 of the island coast, and the beach area is wide, which is suitable for the cultivation of various shellfish. Shicheng archipelago is located in the north, mainly composed of Shicheng Island, datujia Island, Shoulong island and changtuozi island. The sea erosion landform of Changshan Islands is typical. There are sea erosion caves of different sizes, depths and shapes; spectacular sea erosion bridges are everywhere on the islands; sea erosion pillars are in various forms. The sea erosion landform adds infinite scenery to Changshan Islands, which is a unique beach tourism landscape of Changshan Islands.
Ancient land of China and Korea
Changshan Archipelago is a continental island, originally belonging to the ancient land of China and Korea, and then separated from Liaodong Peninsula by faulting. The continental shelf where the archipelago lies is mainly Sinian and Cambrian. The X-type faults are very well developed. One group is NE trending, the other group is se trending, and the other group is NNW trending. The lichangshan strait between the peninsula and the archipelago may be a NE trending deep fault zone. Under the control of this kind of fault structure, the original mountains and valleys on the ground are arranged in a "Qizhao" shape.
The sea immersion in the post glacial period made the high mountain peaks become islands. The sea is eroded by waves and the cliffs are steep. The accumulation of sediment connects some neighboring small islands into big ones, such as Dashan Island, xiaochangshan Island, Shicheng Island and Guanglu island. In the sea floor between islands, most of the bedrock is covered by shallow marine fine sand and silt, except that some deep channels are scoured by current.
Climatic characteristics
Changshan Archipelago is located in the middle latitude between the Eurasian continent and the Pacific Ocean, surrounded by the sea, so it has a typical temperate monsoon climate, and the climate is moderate due to the adjustment of the ocean. It is not cold in winter and not hot in summer. The annual average temperature is 10 ℃, and the average temperature in January is - 4.9 ℃. The annual precipitation is 640mm and the frost free period is 213 days, which is the longest frost free period in Liaoning Province. According to the natural conditions of the island, the people of the island arrange the mountains and waters of the islands in order. The mountains on the island are covered with pine, locust, oak and other trees; terraced fields are below about 50 meters above sea level, and flat garden fields extend down to the sea. Artificial farms are built near the sea.
The vast Yellow Sea and superior geographical conditions provide favorable conditions for the development of Fisheries in Changshan Islands. Changshan Archipelago is located on the continental shelf, the water depth is generally not more than 50 meters, the sunshine is sufficient, the water transparency is strong, and the water temperature is moderate. The annual average surface water temperature is 11.50 ℃, the extreme minimum water temperature is - 2.1 ℃, the extreme maximum water temperature is 28.3 ℃, and there is no ice in winter. Seafloor plants are luxuriant, the bottom material is soft sand, there are also a variety of shellfish and fish reproduction habitat for reefs.
The confluence of warm current and cold current is another important factor that makes Changshan Islands rich in aquatic resources. In April and may every year, the Yellow Sea warm current (the branch of Kuroshio in the west of Kyushu Island in Japan) and the Taiwan warm current meet with the cold current along the northern coast of China. At this time, not only the water temperature is moderate, but also the nutrients in the lower layer flood to the upper layer, and the plankton in the upper layer is particularly rich, which is conducive to a large number of fish and shrimp breeding.
In addition, large and small rivers on Liaodong Peninsula and Korean Peninsula have brought a lot of humus here, which makes the water rich and the beach fertile. There are a lot of plankton, and a lot of fish and shrimp are concentrated, which promotes their rapid growth.
Sea View Seafood
Therefore, traveling to Changshan Islands, you can not only enjoy the beautiful sea view, but also taste a variety of seafood. There are more than 100 kinds of fish and shrimp in Changshan Islands, among which gill fish, Taiyu, black carp, yellow croaker, black carp, soft shelled turtle, shrimp butterfly, toothfish and star butterfly are the most abundant. Shellfish have Muli and so on. Efforts should be made to develop the offshore culture of kelp and mussel. Over the years, the total output of aquatic products in Changshan Islands ranks among the top (county level) in China. In 1978, the total output of aquatic products reached more than 120000 tons, including more than 90000 tons of fish. Sea cucumber, abalone, scallop and prawn are the four major specialties of Changshan Islands, especially sea cucumber, abalone and prawn.
Apostichopus japonicus is the most valuable sea cucumber. It is mainly distributed in the southern end of Liaodong Peninsula and the northern coast of Shandong Peninsula in China. Changshan Islands has the largest production and the best quality. Over the years, the production of sea cucumber in Changshan Islands accounts for about 35% of the whole country. Abalone is always known as the best seafood. Its meat is tender and delicious, and it has high nutritional value. At present, the largest output of abalone in our country is ruguliao, which is mainly produced in Zhangzi Island and Haiyang island of Changshan Islands, accounting for more than 60% of the national output of ruguliao. Prawn is one of the most popular seafood. China's shrimp production is high and its value is large, and it exchanges a lot of foreign exchange for the country every year. Changshan Archipelago and Bohai Bay are two main shrimp producing areas in China. In 1979, Changhai County produced more than 4000 tons of prawn, accounting for about 13% of the total prawn production in China.
Zhangzi Island in Changshan Archipelago is worth mentioning. It consists of three villages of Dongzhang, Xizhang and shabaozi, and three islands of daluan, dawuzi and xiaomizi, with a total area of 17 square kilometers. Zhangzi Island is known as "Yellow Sea cornucopia", "Yellow Sea Pearl" and "Yellow Sea bunch of flowers". The island is steep in the South and gentle in the north. 50% of the island area is covered by Pinus massoniana forest, Sophora japonica and other trees, and 17% of the island area is composed of chestnut and apple orchards. The whole island is green and beautiful.
Nature Zoo
It is said that hundreds of years ago, a large number of birds and animals lived on Zhangzi Island, which is a natural zoo. By the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, there were more than 6000 Zhangzi. It is said that it is effortless to hunt for Zhangzi, as long as you take a stick to fight. Nowadays, Zhangzi has disappeared, but the vast sea area around Zhangzi Island is extremely rich in aquatic resources. It is rich in all kinds of fish, shrimps, crabs, shellfish and algae, as well as sea cucumber, abalone, Yubei and other marine treasures. With the popularization of mechanized fishing and aquaculture, Zhangzi Island is now a well-known rich island.
Changshan Archipelago, like a pearl inlaid in the northern coast of China, attracts more and more tourists. It can be predicted that in the near future, it will develop into a new island tourism area in the north of China, emitting its dazzling brilliance.
