Scenery of ancient village
Fenggang village is located at the widest part of Haojiang fjord. It covers a small area of about 4 square kilometers and has a population of more than 7000. The formation of the village can be traced back to 700 years ago. According to the records of toponymy of Haojiang District in Shantou City, "in the sixth year of Yanhu reign in Yuan Dynasty (1319), a family surnamed Zheng settled here and became a village."
Fenggang village has a long history, rich remains of ancient buildings and well preserved ancient houses. It is a charming ancient coastal fishing village in eastern Guangdong. Fenggang ancient village is arranged in accordance with the architectural style of Chaoshan traditional dwellings and built in accordance with Fenggang mountain. It is well arranged, simple and simple, reflecting the profound clan concept. After hundreds of years of development and accumulation, Fenggang village has a tradition of advocating culture and education, with profound folk culture. Fenggang pearl goddess temple fair and dragon boat race are famous in Chaoshan.
When you enter Fenggang village, in addition to watching the ebb and flow of the tide and listening to the sound of the waves, the jagged rocks and ancient banyan trees scattered all over the ancient village are also unique scenery that can not be missed. There are many strange stones in Fenggang. Ma Yin stone, turtle crab stone, snakehead stone and Dianpao stone are not only unique in shape, but also endowed with many myths and legends. Some of the stones also blend with the ancient banyan. In front of the door of the folk house "songshiju", the main root of a banyan tree is rooted in the stone eye above a large cone-shaped stone. The roots intertwine and wrap the stone tightly, forming a veritable "songshirong". The roots of the whole tree stretch along the stone crevices, entangle the stones and stretch into the soil, just like the crab whiskers of the stone crab.
Along the zigzag stone path of Fenggang village, Chaoshan traditional dwellings are arranged in a row. Fenggang ancient village is small in hinterland and lack of land resources. Therefore, most of the dwellings are scattered in the mountains, and the roadways are built according to local conditions, revealing the taste of ancient simplicity and nature everywhere. Even the stone, according to the original appearance "long" at home. It turns out that when building houses in Fenggang village, they all follow the nature and cut corners. When there are natural boulders, they will not be destroyed. Therefore, there are "stone houses" with huge stones in the houses, which are also known as "stone cloth houses" by local people. There are about five or six such old houses in the village. These huge stones, either in the patio or in the house, not only don't seem to hinder the eyes, but also are a unique style of "natural decoration".
If you look carefully, there are many Chaoshan inlaid porcelains with auspicious patterns such as dragon and Phoenix, flowers and birds on the middle ridge and vertical belt of the roofs of these ancient villages. Besides the common flowers, birds, insects, fish and historical allusions, some folk houses built in the period of the Republic of China even have murals of airplanes, ships, foreign buildings and other themes, as well as patterns of golden haired and blue eyed foreigners watching the sky at night. Despite a long period of wind, rain and solar eclipse, many murals are still clearly visible and vivid.
