Binhai National Geopark is located in Dalian Jinshitan tourist resort. It is a collection of various natural reefs formed by the deposition of rocks and a large number of paleontological fossils 600-900 million years ago. Some of them are shaped like animals, some like human figures, and even like blooming flowers.
There are different scenic spots in the park. The rocks in the rose garden are like clusters of blooming roses; there are lifelike "Beethoven's head" stones in the dinosaur garden and giant stones with the name of "dinosaur exploring the sea" overlooking the sea; there are various animal giant stones in the nanxiu garden, such as "Mirs spreading their wings", "hedgehog foraging", etc.; the unique stone forest landscape in the Jinshi garden is also the same Attractive, as well as the unique landscape formed by the karst landform... Attracts countless tourists to visit every year.
Dalian Binhai National Geopark
Dalian coastal national geopark is located in the southernmost tip of Liaodong Peninsula and the southeast coastal zone of Dalian city. The park is composed of four parks: Jinshitan, Daheishan, southern coast and Lushunkou. Jinshitan park is the core Park of National Geopark, which is divided into three major scenic spots: Gold Coast scenic spot, Eastern scenic spot and Chengshantou scenic spot. Among them, the Eastern scenic area is the most concentrated area of geological wonders, which is divided into four major scenic groups: Rose Garden, dinosaur garden, nanxiu garden and Aotan garden.
Approved by the Ministry of land and resources in September 2005, it became the fourth batch of National Geoparks in China, and opened in November 2007.

Location context
Dalian Binhai National Geopark is located in Dalian city of Liaoning Province, and from the old fellow mountain area to Lushun mountain in the south of the city, the total area of the park is 216.42 square kilometers.
The geographical location is 122 ° 05 ′ E and 39 ° 06 ′ n. Among them, Jinshitan Park (southeast of Jinzhou District) is the core Park of National Geopark, with a total area of 64.50 square kilometers.
Climatic characteristics
Dalian is located in the warm temperate zone of the northern hemisphere. It has a warm temperate continental monsoon climate with marine characteristics, and is the warmest place in Northeast China. There is no severe cold in winter, no intense heat in summer, and four distinct seasons. The annual average temperature is 10.5 ℃, of which August is the hottest and January is the coldest. The precipitation is concentrated in summer, with heavy rain, and the night rain is more than the day rain. The annual precipitation is 550-950mm, and the total sunshine hours are 2500-2800 hours.
topographic features
Dalian is located in the outer side of the Japan Taiwan Pacific island arc seismic belt, near the overthrust zone between the Indian plate and the northern plate of China. It extends from the northeast of Shandong to the Tanlu fault in Russia, and in the active fault zone where Jinzhou intersects with the East-West Jinzhou fault. Due to plate activity, volcanic eruption and fault compression, some faults, faults, folds and other structural geological bodies are formed in the strata and rocks of Dalian area. The inverted anticline formed by Xingmincun formation and the syncline formed by dalinzi formation can be seen on the sea erosion cliff. The inverted sea and river is a description of the rock bending due to compression, which is like the shape of breaking waves when the waves reach the shore. The fold structure is formed during the Mesozoic orogeny in southern Liaoning. The stratigraphic inversion spot is composed of slate and laminar limestone of majiatun formation. The strata are eroded by the sea waves, forming a series of low sea erosion mounds. The strata turn eastward, and part of the mounds which are not submerged come out of the water when the tide is high, which looks like the ancient officials holding wat to face the king in the early days.
Dalian Binhai National Geopark is composed of Qianshan Mountains extending southwest to the ocean. At the southern tip of the peninsula, the old fellow iron mountain is separated from the Bohai Straits and is connected with the Shandong Peninsula, forming the dividing line between Bohai and the Yellow Sea.
river system
Qianshan Mountain, old fellow in Dalian Binhai National Geopark, forms the backbone of the peninsula. It is part of the new Huaxia uplift belt. It connects the mountain pass from north to south, and it is about 340 km long from the south to the old mountain. The elevation is less than 500 meters above sea level. Qianshan Mountains divide Liaodong peninsula into two slopes. The southeast slope is gentle. There are long river systems, such as Dayang River, Yingna River, Biliu River and Dasha River, flowing into the Yellow Sea. The northwest slope is steep, with short water systems such as Daqing River, Xiongyue River and Fuzhou river flowing into the Bohai Sea.
Geological characteristics
geological structure
grotesque peak
Dalian National Geopark has a typical geological significance and ornamental value in China, and it has a long history. Since ancient times, the mountains in the territory have been famous for being "majestic, strange, smart and dangerous". The blue sky, white clouds, clear water, green space and jungle constitute an extremely superior ecosystem.
hot spring
Dalian Geopark is rich in geothermal resources. There are 6 representative hot springs, which are all formed by fault structure connecting deep heat source and underground hot water. The water is rich in calcium, zinc, magnesium and metasilicic acid.
mountain spring
Mountain spring has a certain research value of hydrogeology and tourism geology. Most of the mountain springs are exposed in the rock fissures at the source of the valley and the foot of the mountain. They flow all the year round, and when the rainy season comes, they rush.
Cave relics
There are abundant cave relics in the park, mainly carbonate karst caves, formed by groundwater dissolution.
Geological disaster relics
The mountain joints are extremely developed, the rock weathering is strong, and the fissures are dense. When there is a strong earthquake, it can cause landslides. In the valley, different shapes of rock blocks are stacked together, forming a spectacular "stone flow" according to the situation. This is a typical rock collapse relic caused by external forces such as earthquake or gravity. It is an ideal place to study natural gravity geological disasters. Wetland and forest, farmland, grassland and other ecological environment diversity ecosystem, known as the "kidney of the earth.".
Geological type
Dalian National Geopark is located in the southwest extension of Qianshan Mountains, the southernmost tip of Liaodong Peninsula, between the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea, forming a blue sea surrounded by low mountains and rolling terrain. Due to the geological structure, especially the new geological structure activity since Quaternary and the long-term effect of sea water power on the land, the landform of this area is mountainous and hilly, less plain and lowland, and the coastal karst landform is relatively developed, forming a complex and diverse coastal landform, and developing a variety of sea erosion landforms,
The Geopark is mainly composed of coastal zone geology and marine erosion landform, supplemented by stratotype section, biostratigraphic section and typical geological structure landscape, which are mutually reflected with marine life and cultural landscape. The Sinian and Cambrian strata of 300-900 million years ago are rich in stromatolites and trilobite fossils, which are favorable evidences for studying paleogeography, paleoenvironment and paleoclimate changes.
Jinshitan park remains in the park are Archean metamorphic rock series of 2.5-2.8 billion years old, marine carbonate rock and sand shale series of 1 billion years old. The sedimentary rock in this area is a typical intertidal flat environment, in which a large area of reef beaches are submerged by sea water at high tide and exposed to the sea after low tide. The rocks forming these reef beaches are intertidal flat environment around 650 million years old The product of deposition.
