Wuhou Temple was built in the period of the Three Kingdoms (263 AD) under the edict of Liu Chan, the later leader of the Shu Han Dynasty. It is the earliest Wuhou Temple in the world, known as "the first Wuhou Temple in the world". Wuhou Temple is opposite to the tomb of Wuhou across the Han Dynasty. After thousands of years, there is a clay statue of Zhuge Liang in the main hall of the ancient temple. On the statue, there is a plaque of "zhongguanyunxiao" written by Emperor Jiaqing of the Qing Dynasty. There are lots of Steles and ancient trees outside the temple. . It was built in the spring of the sixth year of Jingyao, opposite to the tomb of marquis Wu on the Hanjiang River. In the old days, the temple of marquis Wu was as numerous as stars. There are still 9 large-scale Wuhou temples in China. The Wuhou Temple in Mianxian County, Hanzhong County, Shaanxi Province, was built by the emperor, about 50 years earlier than Chengdu Wuhou Temple, which can be called "the first Wuhou Temple in China". In 263, the 29th year after Zhuge Liang's death, Liu Chan issued an imperial edict to establish a temple. At that time, because "the capital was built and the ancestral temple was forced", the ancestral hall was located at wuhouping at the foot of Dingjun mountain, near the tomb. This is the only ancestral temple built by the emperor and allocated to yinliang, so it is known as "the first Wuhou Temple in the world".
Wuhou Temple in Mianxian County covers an area of more than 80 mu. After more than 1700 years, it integrates ancient architecture, gardens, literature, art, calligraphy and painting, sculpture and color painting. It is a millennium old temple representing the local traditional architectural style of Southern Shaanxi. The temple is rich in cultural relics, with layers of plaques, numerous steles, and many ancient and famous trees.
Among them, the Tang stele in Wuhou Temple was identified by the State Council as "the first batch of famous calligraphy steles in China" in 1979. The ancient cypress has been more than 1700 years old by forestry experts. The dry lotus is confirmed to be a rare flower tree in the world, more than 400 years old, and is identified as the "city flower" of Hanzhong City.

Historical records
According to historical records, after Liang's death, Shu people missed him very much and asked to set up a temple for him one after another. The court thought that it was not in accordance with the etiquette system, so the people worshipped him privately on the road. Later, someone suggested to set up a temple in Chengdu, but Liu Chan didn't listen. Until the spring of 263, Xi Long and Xiang Chong advised Liu Chan to set up a temple for Zhuge Liang with the story of Zhou people missing Zhao Bo and Yue King Gou Jian missing Fan Li.
In 263 A.D., 29 years after Zhuge Liang's death, Liu Chan, the empress of the Shu Han Dynasty, issued an edict to establish a temple. This is the only "official Temple" and the earliest Temple of marquis Wu in the world. At that time, because "the capital was built and the ancestral temple was forced", the ancestral hall was located at wuhouping at the foot of Dingjun mountain, near the tomb. More than ten miles away from the tomb of marquis Wu, it is a building of Ming and Qing Dynasties. The temple sits in the South and North, faces the Han River, and faces the highway. It is about 200 meters long from north to South and 120 meters wide from east to west, in a rectangular shape. Surrounded by walls, 80 mu foundation, a total of seven courtyard 54 houses. Memorial Gateway
In front of the temple is a memorial archway, which is 10 meters high and has octagonal angles. The width of the archway is 6 meters in the middle and 3 meters in the East and West. The four pillars fall to the ground and are covered with grey tiles. On one side of the archway are written "the ancestral hall of Zhongwu Marquis of Zhuge, the Prime Minister of the Han Dynasty", and on the other side are written "the best in the world".

Since the Wei and Jin Dynasties, there have been many ink marks left by celebrities in the Wuhou Temple. Li Shangyin of Tang Dynasty, Lu You of Song Dynasty, Xue Xuan of Ming Dynasty and Wang Shizhen of Qing Dynasty all came here to write poems and inscriptions. In 2016, more than 60 steles, 30 plaques and more than 20 couplets were preserved.
There are many craftsmen and couplets hanging in the temple, and the plaque includes: "high mountains and flowing water", "mellow Confucian atmosphere", "Dai Yang Qinggao", "one man of the Han Dynasty", "big utensils have no way", "wonders of the world", "it is still like a dragon", "mountains are high and rivers are long", "Bozhong Yilu", among which "Zhongguan Yunxiao" is the "imperial gift" in the eighth year of Jiaqing Dynasty (1803 A.D.).
There is a couplet: "to help the Hans be firm and prudent is to be able to take on a career; Fu Long's reputation will be deep diving, and then soar to the sky." General Feng Yuxiang wrote in 1928: "be careful when you accomplish great things, and be cautious all your life; look up to the wind and become a relic, and be lofty forever." It is inlaid on the wall behind the main hall. On the piano floor, there is a piece of "stone Qin", 115 cm long, 24 cm wide at the head and 20 cm wide at the tail. It is engraved with "the first year of Zhangwu". The percussion is clear and pleasant. It is said that it was written by Hu Tao of Jin and Wenshui. Unfortunately, it was broken during the cultural revolution. Among the numerous steles, there is a Tang stele inscribed by Shen Jun, which is the most precious stele of the Ming Dynasty.

In the main hall, there is a clay statue of Zhuge Liang, with a feather fan and a silk scarf. The eyes are dignified and vivid, and the standing statues of Guan Xing and Zhang Bao are on the side. In the front hall of the statue, there is a plaque inscribed by Emperor Jiaqing of the Qing Dynasty in the eighth year of Jiaqing (1803).

There are 18 ancient cypresses in the ancestral hall, all of which are about 1 meter in diameter, tall, lush and luxuriant, adding color to the ancestral hall. There is a "dry lotus" in the east courtyard of Gulou. It is about 10 meters high and 40 cm in diameter. It is a rare woody plant. It blooms at the beginning of spring. It is similar to lotus. It is fragrant for several miles and has a unique appearance. People understand it as a symbol of Zhuge Liang's indifference and honesty.
