Zhensheng temple is located in Zhiwu village, Fancun Town, Taigu County, Shanxi Province. It was built in 1157, the second year of Jin Zhenglong, and was repaired many times in the later Qing Dynasty. The existing buildings include the main hall, the stone kiln and the East and west side hall sites. Zhensheng temple is the Sixth Batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
The main hall has a construction area of 113 square meters. The beam frame retains the original appearance of the Jin Dynasty. The beam frame is three rooms wide and three rooms deep. The beam frame is fully exposed, and the four rafters are used to pull forward. The structure is simple and regular, which is consistent with the shape of the Jin Dynasty. With a construction area of 106 square meters, the stone kiln is a relic of the Qing Dynasty, with a width of seven rooms. The main hall of Zhensheng temple has a simple and generous structure, which not only reflects the wooden structure of the Jin Dynasty, but also has unique features, which has high historical and scientific value.
Zhensheng temple is located at the entrance of feiwu village, Fancun Town, 40 km east of Taigu County. It is recorded in Taigu County annals by Daoguang of Qing Dynasty that "Zhensheng temple is located in jinzhenglong No.2 village in the northeast of the county. -It was built in 2000. Daoguang's (1842) stele records of rebuilding Zhensheng temple, which has clear handwriting, says: "there was Zhensheng temple in Zhiwu village, East Township of Guyi, whose founding year was' Zhanbei kekaokou....". "Zhensheng Temple" recorded in the county annals is homonymous with "Zhensheng Temple" recorded in the epitaph of rebuilding Zhensheng temple. "Fogu village" recorded in the county annals is different from "Zhiwu village" and the name of the current village recorded in the stele of rebuilding Zhensheng temple. Therefore, a brief study is made as follows. 1. Fogu village, the administrative villages in kaotaigu county and the local records all have no establishment of fogu village. Both the local people and the old people talked about "there are three ditches around Zhiwu village, which are called" Buddha Valley "by the local people. The local people have always called" Valley "and" Valley "in common, which means" Valley ". Among the three gullies are scattered a small village, which is small and looks like a fat Mayer, so it is called "fat Mayer village". People call these villages "fogu village". The county annals and other relevant historical records of Taigu do not record other "fogu village", so "fogu village" is "Zhiwu village". 2. Zhensheng temple is homophonic with "Zhen" and "Zhen". It should be a clerical error or the different understanding of the temple by the parties at that time. Now the inscription is the standard. Zhensheng temple has three main halls (1026cm wide) and three eaves (857cm deep). The front porch with single eaves is not built at both ends of the building. The beam frame is composed of four rafters, and the rafters are used to cut and pull forward. The milk rafters are used to poke the eaves column with three columns, and the milk rafters are used to pave the melon seeds slowly and make the Dougong play the head. A hump and a bucket are set between the bundles, and a Shu column is set up on the beam. The column base is stable. The column head is set with climbing bucket, holding seasonal arch and Tong Ti Cheng Ji Chun. On both sides of the ridge stroke, the fork is used to hold the berm and the square wood is used to stabilize the fork. The structure is simple and regular, and the frame is generous. Its structural features are consistent with the times recorded in the county annals, and it is a legacy of the Jin Dynasty.
