The tower is 55.7 meters high and 48 meters long. It is made of brick and can be upgraded by steps. There are relief sculptures of torture scenes at the base of the tower and an iron brake at the top of the tower. The simple doors and windows, the varied eaves and the slender and straight body of the tower make people feel dignified and elegant without losing their exquisite skills.
The main feature of the Pizhi tower is that it has double eaves and belongs to the close eaves pavilion type. Its shape is peculiar, and the tower is different from top to bottom. The first to third floors are double eaves, and the fourth to ninth floors are single eaves. As a close eaves Pavilion structure, Pizhi tower is the only one in China, which may be the first example of close eaves Pavilion structure.
Many places of interest are full of beautiful and moving legends, such as the relief of "lotus in hell" and "the last Banan molefu", which reflect the political life of Ashoka.
According to the name of the tower, it was built for worshiping the Pizhi Buddha. Pizhita "pizhita" comes from Buddhism and is transliterated as "pizhijia Buddha", which is also called "pizhifo". Pizhita means pizhifo pagoda. Bizhi Buddha is transliterated in Sanskrit, which means "Jue" and "dujue". It is one of the three mahayanas (Sheng Wen Cheng, PI Zhi fo Cheng, Da Cheng). It refers to the saints who have no teacher but can consciously realize themselves. "The third parable of the Dharma Sutra" says: "if there are all living beings who listen to the Dharma and believe in it from the Buddha, who are diligent and diligent in seeking natural wisdom, who are happy and good at solitude, and who are well aware of the causes of all Dharma, they are famous Buddhists.".
At that time, some eminent monks would be regarded as Pizhi Buddhas, such as master miaokong Zhina during the song and Jin Dynasties. In the biography of Buxu eminent monk, it is recorded that when he was in Lingyan, Hu family, the great surname of Pingjiang, set up Dazhai, and all the senior people would live there. The night before, the dreamer told him, "in the Jichao Dynasty, there were people who came on horseback in yellow and brown, and they created a branch of Buddhism.". The dawn seeks for it, but the master is like a dream. Hu raised his room to greet him, and he was shocked. "
