Yudong karst cave
Yudong karst cave is located in Yudong township to the west of Kaili. It is a natural karst cave. It was discovered and developed in 1984. At present, it has been developed for about 2000 meters, and there are more than 6000 meters of dark caves that have not yet been explored. There is a stream in front of the cave. The trees on both sides are luxuriant and luxuriant. It is divided into 6 floors, 5 halls and 8 sections. A large number of stalactites, stalagmites, stone pillars and stone flowers are in the cave.
Traffic situation
From Kaili to Yudong cave, the fare is 4 yuan, about 2 hours' drive.

brief introduction
CaCO3 calcium carbonate has such a property: when it meets with water dissolved in CO2, it will become soluble calcium bicarbonate. CaCO3 + CO2 + H2O = Ca (HCO3) 2. If the water dissolved in calcium bicarbonate is heated or the pressure suddenly decreases, the calcium bicarbonate dissolved in the water will decompose and become calcium carbonate again. At the same time, it releases carbon dioxide. Ca (HCO3) 2 = CaCO3 ↓ + CO2 ↑ + H2O, the above reactions constantly occur in nature, thus forming various landscapes in the cave. The largest cave in the world is Mammoth Cave in the Appalachian Mountains of North America, which is located in Kentucky. The depth of the cave is 64km, and the total length of all bifurcated caves is 250km. The wide part of the cave is like a square, the narrow part is like a corridor, and the high part is 30m high. The whole cave is tortuous in plane and can be divided into three layers vertically. In rainy season, there is running water in the whole cave, which becomes an underground river. At the slope break, the river falls and forms a waterfall. In dry season, there is water in some areas, which becomes an underground lake. There may be a pool with deep water, which can be called bottomless pool.
Cause of formation
The formation of karst cave is the result of long-term dissolution of groundwater in limestone area. The insoluble calcium carbonate in limestone can be transformed into slightly soluble calcium bicarbonate under the action of water and carbon dioxide. Because each part of the limestone layer contains different amounts of calcareous matter and is eroded to different degrees, it is gradually dissolved and divided into independent, diverse, steep and beautiful peaks and grotesque caves. For example, the world-famous Guilin cave and Beijing Shihua Cave are masterpieces created by the slow erosion of water and carbon dioxide. When the water dissolved in calcium bicarbonate drips from the top of the cave to the bottom of the cave, the solubility of carbon dioxide will decrease due to the evaporation of water or the decrease of pressure, as well as the change of temperature. After millions of years of accumulation, these deposits gradually formed stalactites and stalagmites. If the water containing calcium bicarbonate drips from the top of the cave, with the evaporation of water and carbon dioxide, the precipitated calcium carbonate will accumulate into stalactite, stone mantle and stone flower. If the stalactite at the top of the cave is connected with the stalagmite on the ground, a peculiar stone column will be formed.
Famous karst caves in China
The longest known cave in China is Tenglong cave in Lichuan County, Hubei Province, about 40 km long, and the deepest is Wujia cave in Shuicheng, Guizhou Province. It's 430 meters deep. China is a country with many caves, especially the caves in Guangxi, such as Qixingyan and ludiyan in Guilin. The Yunshui cave in Shangfangshan, near Zhoukoudian in the southwest suburb of Beijing, is 612m deep. Seven "halls" are connected by a narrow and long "corridor". At the end of the cave is a huge stalagmite, which is famous as eighteen Arhats. Behind the stalagmite is a deep and inaccessible cave with a certain scale. Although the dragon bone cave in Zhoukoudian is not big, it is the habitat of our ancestors.
