According to the records of Chengcheng County annals (Han Zhi), Li Heng, Emperor suzong of Tang Dynasty, had been in power for six years from 756 to 761. The tower has a history of more than 1240 years since it was first built. Through the textual research of historical data, it is confirmed that the pagoda of Jingjin temple in our county was founded in the Tang Dynasty, and had been greatly renovated in the Song Dynasty and Qing Dynasty.

Jingjin Temple Pagoda is a square nine level dense eaves type built in the Tang Dynasty. It is 33.26 meters high, with a square base and 7 meters on each side. The first layer of the tower is high with a wall thickness of 2.2m. There is a wind chime at the four corners of each floor. The tower gate on the bottom floor is to the south, and a pair of wooden doors are installed in the middle. This door is the main gate of the temple tower. You can enter and climb the tower. The first floor of the tower is a wooden revolving staircase, and the other floors are wooden climbing stairs. Up to the sixth floor, the space of the seven to eight floors is too small for climbing stairs to be erected. There are hidden pillars and forehead squares on each floor. The upper and lower compartments of the ticket door are separated. The fifth floor has two jumps in the bucket arch. The single Pleiades stealthily built it. The wind chimes are hung on the corner of each floor. The eaves of the pagoda are made of seven layers of green bricks. On the second, fourth, sixth and eighth floors of the pagoda, there are one entrance to the South or North, one entrance to the East and one entrance to the West; on the third, fifth and seventh floors, there are one entrance to the east or west, one entrance to the north and one entrance to the south. The top of the tower is sealed with bricks and iron brakes. The hidden structure of the tower, the door opening and the horizontal grilled windows are all depicted in earth red. In terms of appearance, it is similar to the Dayan Pagoda in Xi'an, and similar to the Northern Song Pagoda in Tongchuan. At the same time, it also has its unique style. The body of the pagoda is imitated by wood, the column head is prominent, the eaves are clear, the iron brake on the top of the pagoda is in good condition, and the brake seat is in the shape of inverted lotus petals. According to historical records, the pagoda was named after the temple.

He saw the scenery and had feelings. He once wrote a poem published in the county annals with the title of guojingjin temple. Rehabilitation
According to the Chengcheng County annals, Wang Xinzhen (from Henan Province), who was the magistrate of Chengcheng in the 28th year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty, once praised the tower in the poem "chengshuyin" that "the floating picture in the east of the city rises nine levels, and the sky is half empty." The remaining buildings of Jingjin temple had been destroyed before liberation, and now only the pagoda of Jingjin temple still stands in the county. After liberation, the party and the government attached importance to the protection and management of historical and cultural heritage. In 1956 and 1990, the party and the government allocated funds for maintenance twice. In 1994, the Provincial Bureau of cultural relics allocated 240000 yuan, and the county government allocated 40000 yuan. The tower was comprehensively repaired, including strengthening the tower foundation, repairing the tower body, erecting stairs, straightening the phase wheel, replacing the wheel core, adding the foundation, installing guardrails, and hanging wind chimes. The tower was completed in August 1995 Work. The county cultural relics protection and Administration Committee set up a monument to restore Jingjin Temple Pagoda in memory of that year.

It is a good place for people to browse and relax. In 1958, the tower was published by the county people's government as a key cultural relics protection unit at the county level. In April 1992, it was published by the Shaanxi Provincial People's government as the provincial key cultural relics protection unit. In July 1999, it was published in the dictionary of Chinese tourism attractions. It echoed the Town God's Temple God building of the County West Street, attracting many tourists from both China and abroad.
On May 25, 2006, Jingjin pagoda, as an ancient building from Tang Dynasty to Song Dynasty, was approved by the State Council to be listed in the Sixth Batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
