Camel Hill
Camel Mountain is located in Guilin Seven Star Park, one of the famous mountains in Guilin, formerly known as Jiuhu mountain. It is named because it looks like a camel. But it is also like an ancient wine pot, so it is also called Hushan.
essential information
There is a pot body, a pot mouth, a stone under the pot mouth, just like a wine cup. Huzui (Shannan) is engraved with the word "Hushan" and "Tomb of Lei jiuren" beside it. Leijiuren, formerly known as leimingchun, was a Confucian scholar in Jiangnan in the late Ming Dynasty. He is chivalrous and helpful. He has a high medical standard. He is good at poetry and literature. He is addicted to wine and will get drunk every time he drinks. He planted peaches and plums at the foot of Lushan Mountain. When the flowers bloom in spring, they are like a piece of rosy clouds. Therefore, he has the reputation of "Hushan rosy clouds", which is one of the eight continued sceneries in Guilin. Every morning and dusk, the sun shines on the rocks, and the color is gorgeous, which is quite spectacular. Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, peach trees have been planted all over the mountain. When spring comes, peach blossoms are brilliant, and the river is full of purple mist.
Other information
Hushan is very similar to the camel lying on the ground. Today, visitors call it camel, which shows the vivid image, so it can be called "camel Cabernet Sauvignon". On the south side of the mountain is the bonsai garden. Nearly 2000 pots of bonsai are all treasures, each with its own charm and natural interest. There are fish ponds, stacked stones, flat bridges, curved corridors, waterside pavilions and pavilions in the scenic area, which are winding and quiet, just like entering a fairyland.
In July 1998, US President Bill Clinton held a forum on environmental protection with Chinese people in the bonsai art garden beside the mountain. After that, he delivered a speech on environmental protection on the lawn in front of Camel Mountain, shaking a Guilin folding fan and jokingly calling it "energy saving air conditioning".
