Huayan scenic spot is located in Jiulongpo District, southwest suburb of Chongqing, 23 kilometers away from the urban area. It is about 15 kilometers away from the city center. As of August 2009, it covers an area of more than 700 mu, with a planned area of 1609 mu.

Development history

Huayan Temple has a long history. It is one of the famous temples in Sichuan and one of the top ten jungles in Southwest China. It is known as "Bashan Lingjing". It is a cultural relic protection unit at the municipal level in Chongqing. Huayan Temple is also known as Huayan Temple. Because there are caves and springs in the rocks, and the spring splashes down from the top of the cave when it rains. It looks like scattered flowers, so the ancients named Huayan Temple. It is said that during the Tang Dynasty, there were believers who built temples here to worship Buddha, and built temples during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty.

Huayan Temple has been reconstructed and built. Now it covers an area of 3.3 hectares, with a total construction area of 14000 square meters. It is composed of the main building, the reception hall and Huayan cave. The building is well preserved, exquisite and magnificent.

In 1937, Huayan Temple founded Huayan Buddhist College. In May 2005, Chongqing Buddhist College, the only higher religious college in Southwest China approved by the State Bureau of religious affairs, was officially listed in the scenic spot.

Chongqing Huayan Longmen array scenic spot is a national 4A scenic spot, covering an area of 1200 mu.
