Yuxi Bridge
After crossing xiakedu pontoon from daximen, you will arrive at Pingyang North Road, which is a flood control embankment built on the West Bank of Xiaoshui river. It and Pingyang South Road are the urban road connecting Chaoyang rock and Pingdao, two scenic spots in Yongzhou. Walking about 150 meters south of Pingyang North Road, there is a single curved arch bridge. Under the bridge is Yuxi, which Liu Zongyuan once named for it. (Yu Xi was once named ran Xi. After Liu Zongyuan came here, he thought that he was guilty of being stupid, so he changed his name to ran Xi.)
survey
The bridge is about 30 meters long, 5.3 meters wide and 0.35 meters wide, Its height is 0.9 meters, its arch diameter is 8 meters, and its height is 6 meters, which is 4 meters lower than the bridge crossing Pingyang North Road in Yuxi with its neighbors. The whole bridge is made of big green stones. Now the man-made damage on the bridge surface is very serious, and no one manages it. The monument of "Yuxi bridge" set up by Lingling District People's Government artificially lies on the ground. The introduction of the bridge on the back can't verify the tourists who are seeking Yuxi Measured with a steel ruler, the North-South passage of the bridge has become a vegetable field, and two big trees have grown on the big green stone guardrails on the north sides of the bridge. Some people would pry the big green stone off the bridge deck for firewood, but it stood still, while the other one pushed the stone guardrail down.
Yuxi under the bridge is a stream. The water surface is only 5 or 6 meters in dry season and 20 meters in flood season, Except during the flood period, you can cross the stream when you tie up your trouser legs. It originates in three places: daihuashan, taiguyuan and XiaoTaoYuan. There are dozens of miles of waterways, but few people have ever been to its source. It is only 500 meters from the confluence of Xiaoshui and Xiaoshui to Liuzi Temple. The eight chapters of Yongzhou written by Liu Zongyuan of Yuxi above Liuzi temple include the story of cobalt pond, the story of west hill of cobalt pond and the story of small stone pond The three records are within 200 meters above Liuzi temple. Every winter, with heavy snow and plain silver on the bridge deck, it is one of the eight scenic spots in Yongzhou.
history
The original name of the river is ranxi. One way of saying is that the family name of Ran lives here. The name of Ran ranks 198 among the Hundred Surnames. It is said that the population accounts for four thousandths of the Hundred Surnames. In the early 1990s, I came into contact with the surname "Chou" because of my work. At that time, I was curious. He was an electrical design engineer of an Architectural Design Institute at Bayi intersection in Changsha, and he arbitrarily told me that he was so The "Chou" surname is only in his hometown of Jiangxi, but I have never heard of the "ran" surname. There is another saying that in the past, the water of the stream was as muddy as black dye and could not be drunk, so it was also called ranxi. In the fifth year of the reign of emperor Yuanhe in Tang Dynasty (810 AD), that is, the fifth year of Liu Zongyuan's demotion to Yongzhou, Liu Zongyuan moved to the side of the stream and renamed ranxi Yuxi.

This is the junction of Yuxi and Xiaoshui. Its east side is close to less than 2.5 meters. There is a single two arch stone bridge called "Yuxi bridge". In the 1970s, Lingling cigarette factory once produced a kind of cigarette with the trademark of "Yuxi bridge". Unfortunately, the writer didn't collect this cigarette label. Later, Yongzhou cement factory (then a county-level city) used to collect the water from the factory Mud was named "yuxipai" cement. Before the completion of the flood control embankment, this stone bridge, which now seems to be neglected by people, became the only channel for the residents on the South Bank of Yuxi in xuliuzi street to Lingling city. It was also as bustling as Liuzi street and daximen, with jagged rocks at the end of the bridge. Xu Xiake, a geomorphologist in the Ming Dynasty, once left a trail here.
