Jishan is located in the southwest of Yongan City, Sanming City, five kilometers away from the city center. In 1999, it was identified as one of the first batch of famous historical and cultural townships in Fujian Province. During the Anti Japanese War, Fujian provincial government moved to Yong'an for seven and a half years. Dozens of departments, including general office, finance department, civil affairs department, construction department and education department, moved to Yong'an one after another. Cultural and educational departments, judicial system, financial institutions, enterprises and institutions also moved to Yong'an one after another. During the second period of KMT-CPC cooperation, the Communists, progressives and patriots gathered in Yong'an one after another to unite under the United Front, forming a torrent of common hatred and bursting out with great enthusiasm. They ran newspapers, published periodicals and built schools, making Yong'an the cultural center of the southeast Anti Japanese war.
