White Pagoda in liaoqing
The Buddha relic pagoda of the Liao Dynasty, known as "jinchahansuobulga" by the local Mongolian herdsmen, is an important state city in the heyday of the Liao Dynasty - the northwest of Qingzhou City, which is the third batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
Historical records
According to historical records (Qingzhou), "pagodas, temples and shops are a little like Yanzhong", Qingzhou is particularly rich among the states in Shangjing, "treasures of Liao state are gathered here", which shows the prosperity of Qingzhou. The capital of lindan Khan in the Northern Yuan Dynasty was built on the basis of Qingzhou City.

Liaoqing white tower, is a exquisite and beautiful shape, exquisite relief, magnificent scale, for octagonal seven, through the height of 73.27 meters of brick and wood structure arch tower. It was first built in February of the 16th year of the reign of emperor Chongxi (1047) and completed on July 15th of the 18th year of the reign of emperor Chongxi (1049). It was specially built for the Empress Dowager Zhang Sheng, the mother of emperor Xingye of Liao Dynasty. The overall appearance of the tower is as white as jade, straight and beautiful. It sits on the plain, straight into the blue sky, with its back against the green mountains and facing the white water (Chagan murun). 856 round and prismatic bronze mirrors are installed on the doors, windows, lintel arches, brick arches and arch eyes. There are wood rafters on the brick carving bucket arch of the eaves of each tower. One cast iron Fengduo is hung on each rafter. There are 2240 Fengduo on the eaves of the seven tower. There are 28 false doors on the seven floors of the tower, each with a king's relief on both sides. There are 56 King's relief on the whole tower. These king's heads are wearing hoods, wearing armor, holding swords or sharp axes. They are majestic and vivid. The pagoda reliefs show the religious thoughts of Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism and Shamanism incisively and vividly, and they blend with each other in a harmonious way, which reveals the characteristics of Buddhism in Liao Dynasty.
In 1989, when repairing the pagoda, we found a batch of Liao Dynasty scriptures, block printed Buddhist scriptures and 108 wooden Buddhist relic pagodas with various shapes, beautiful shapes and gorgeous colors, which were collected according to the Buddhist rituals of Liao Dynasty. The embossment of Qingzhou white pagoda is called "the essence of the art of the Liao Dynasty tower", which is "the treasure of the Khitan national architecture".
