He Yang Wu Qian modern painting gallery is located in Jinzhan township, Chaoyang District, next to tulip park. Walking into the gate, I saw a two-story building. On the first floor of the exhibition hall are the traditional Chinese paintings of He Yang and Wu Xi, among which Wu Xi's vertical figure paintings are the most prominent, most of which are ethnic minority women. In the second floor exhibition hall, the first part is the legend series of old Beijing created by Mr. He Yang around 1993, followed by Professor Wu Qian's new ink paintings. Although it is a work more than ten years ago, it is refreshing to see the expression skills of western modern art and the connotation full of Chinese ancient history and profound culture.
This is the first private art gallery approved by the state in China. The museum has long exhibited the art works of He Yang and Wu Qian. It also holds exhibitions for artists at home and abroad. It opened on February 1, 1997.
a founder member
He Yang, who is ahead of all painters, visited Germany in 1994. After returning from Berlin, he applied for the establishment of the first private museum in 1994 under the initiative of Beijing municipal government. He was strongly supported by Jia Qinglin and He Luli. After being approved by the qualification examination group of Beijing Municipal Bureau of cultural relics, the museum was approved to be built at the end of the year. The site of the museum is located in the courtyard No.25 Douban Hutong, Dongcheng District, Beijing, February 1, 1997 Sixty modern paintings by He Yang and Wu Qian are on display. He Yang, director of the museum, is a professional painter. Wu Qian is a female painter and associate professor of Beijing Academy of painting. She is a member of China Artists Association and a professional painter. They have been engaged in painting for many years, breaking away from the shackles of tradition and academic schools, belittling money and being indifferent to fame and wealth, learning from China and the west, and creating their own art schools, representing the art from tradition to modern. The museum created by the couple is the first private art Museum in China, filling the gap in the history of Chinese cultural relics and art.
He Yang is a member of Beijing Artists Association, vice chairman of construction Artists Association and professional painter. Wu Qian is a member of Beijing Artists Association, a painter and associate professor of Beijing Academy of painting. There are 16 works of He Yang's new theme and 12 works of Beijing's legend series. Wu Qian's "water town series" 10, "new ink series" 16, "new meticulous water town" 4 (a total of 60). In 1998, he Yang's 12 pieces of Beijing Legend series, 20 pieces of flowers and girls series, 10 pieces of Yunshan series, and Wu Qian's 8 pieces of Shuixiang series (a total of 40 pieces).
The origin of the Museum
He Yang is a professional painter, and Wu Qian is a female painter and associate professor of Beijing Academy of painting. He Yang Wu Qian modern painting gallery is located in No.25 courtyard of Douban Hutong, Chaoyang Gate, Dongcheng District. It has the typical living environment of the old Beijing people. It is a typical Beijing Quadrangle, covering an area of more than 400 square meters, with a private house and a single courtyard. Among them, there are six tile roofed houses, about 100 square meters, used as exhibition rooms. In recent years, it has invested tens of thousands of yuan at its own expense to rebuild the original house. Douban hutong is inhabited by Han, Hui, Manchu, Korean and other nationalities with a long history. There is a mosque opposite it, which has a history of hundreds of years. It is suitable for the development of cultural tourism at home and abroad.
The original intention of building the Museum
It was a dream of painter he Yang when he was a child to set up his own museum. He Yang lived in this courtyard when he was more than 10 years old. The office of the museum was his studio, which was named TA0 tie Liao. At that time, he told a child who was learning to draw that he would build his own museum in the future. Now, the new era has given him this opportunity.
The significance of Library Construction
Beijing is the capital of China. There is no painter's own art gallery, no private art gallery, and the modern art gallery is a blank. The establishment of He Yang Wu Xi modern painting gallery fills this blank. With years of savings and without any investment, they built China's first modern painting gallery, which is a pioneering undertaking.
Since 1991, he Yang and Wu Qian have often received foreign friends and tourists at their homes in Douban Hutong, becoming "folk diplomats". In 1994, Mr. and Mrs. He Yang visited Germany, visited Berlin, Bonn, Cologne and other famous cities, and saw that museums and galleries are everywhere, with high quality and aesthetic consciousness of the whole people. China has a deep cultural foundation and a long history, but it lacks in museum industry. It is intolerable for some foreign media to attack and belittle China's museum cause, but some people criticize that the lag of China's museum cause is something we should pay attention to. Facing the fact that there are many difficulties in the cause of national museums and few private museums, we are determined to build our own museums in our own country and capital after returning home with patriotism.
Exhibition pattern
The museum mainly displays the modern paintings of He Yang and Wu Qian, including 30 by Mr. He Yang and 30 by Ms. Wu Qian (thousands of collections). In the North exhibition hall of the museum, there are 12 paintings of He Yang's "Legend of old Beijing" and 10 paintings of Wu Qian's "hometown series". In the main exhibition hall, there are 2 pieces of He Yang's twelve zodiac series, 2 pieces of religious, secular and literal series, 14 pieces of new theme, 16 pieces of Wu Qian's freehand brushwork "ink landscape series" and 4 pieces of South exhibition hall "ink water town series", totaling 60 collections. There are also traditional painting and calligraphy axes in the South exhibition hall. There are 10 linear works by He Yang and 6 other works. In the future, they will continue to increase their museum collections, establish art archives and improve the scientific management of private museums.
