Gu Yanwu's former residence
Gu Yanwu's former residence used to cover an area of only 6 mu, but now it covers an area of 60 mu. It has formed several scenic spots including Gu Yanwu's living area, Gu Yanwu's ancestral hall, Gu Yanwu's tomb and Gu Yuan. Gu Yanwu's cemetery is connected with Gu Yuan, forming a garden layout of tomb, ancestral hall and hall, which is the first of thousands of lights. Gu Yanwu was buried with his wife.
Brief introduction of cultural relics
Gu Yanwu's former residence, located in Qiandeng Town, Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, covers an area of 60 mu, with a construction area of 5450 square meters.
Gu Yanwu's tomb and ancestral hall were listed as "cultural relics protection units of Jiangsu Province" in 1956, and were damaged during the cultural revolution. In 1984, 1987 and 2000, Kunshan City respectively allocated funds for reconstruction and repair. After renovation, Gu Yanwu's former residence, including Gu Yanwu's former residence, Tinglin ancestral hall, tomb and Gu Yuan, is the first residence of Qiandeng in Ming and Qing Dynasties.
The former residence is the main part of the whole house, facing east and falling West. It is an ancient Ming and Qing architecture with five entrances. From east to west, it is water wall gate, entrance hall, Qingting Hall (sedan Hall), MINGTING Hall (main hall, nanmu Hall) and residential building. On the north side, there is a back lane connecting the kitchen, reading building and back garden. The former residence is connected with Qiannian Shiban street in the front, and Gu Yanwu cemetery and Gu Yuan in the back. This area mainly reproduces Mr. Tinglin's home life and reading scenes. In each hall, Mr. Gu Yanwu's statue, handwriting, works, life story and research achievements of Mr. Gu Yanwu and his works at home and abroad are displayed.
Tinglin temple and Tinglin tomb. It faces south in the north. On the east side, there is a door connecting with Gu Yanwu's former residence. On the west side, outside the wall is Gu garden. To the south of the ancestral hall, there are three rooms with two chambers and a gate tower, and the three rooms are connected to each other for a large Memorial Hall. There are 12 brick and stone steles embedded in the walls on both sides and the corridor wall outside, which describes the story of Mr. Wang. One of them is a famous saying in rizhilu written by Mr. Yu: "every man is responsible for the rise and fall of the world.". There are two Sophora japonica and two Osmanthus fragrans in the courtyard. The terraces of Tinglin tombs are all made of granite, with seven stone steps and stone railings.
Gu Yuan. Covering an area of 30 mu, it is located in the southwest of the former residence, connecting with the ancestral hall and Tomb of the former residence. It is a tourist area with the style of Jiangnan private garden, which is built according to the history and integrates lake light, water color, history and humanity. It is surrounded by water, pavilions and small bridges. It's a perfect place to chant plum blossoms in spring, watch lotus in summer, enjoy osmanthus in autumn and enjoy verdure in winter. Around the water, there are 10 scenic spots, such as Zhiyong Pavilion, Siyi garden, songjuxuan, "guiqiguguai" (ershizhai), Xiushi qiusongzhuang, qiushanting, sanxuju, Cimu Pavilion, Sishi Pavilion and stele gallery. Each scenic spot expresses Tinglin's spirit and life in the form of poetry, calligraphy, painting, quotations and statues.
In addition, Gu Yanwu's former residence is located in the West courtyard of Baoguo temple, north of guanganmennei street, Xuanwu District, Beijing. It was built by he Shaoji and Zhang Mu in 1843. There are Buddha Hall, hall, stele Pavilion and other buildings. The ancestral hall of Gu was destroyed by the Allied forces of eight countries. Later, Zhang Zhidong rebuilt the ancestral hall of Zhaozhong, and Wang Shitong rebuilt it in 1921. It is a key cultural relic to be protected in Beijing.
Gu Yanwu, formerly known as Jiang, was born in Tinglin. He was born in Qiandeng Town, Kunshan in 1613. When he was young, he joined the restoration society. When the Qing soldiers went south, he took part in the anti Qing struggle. He flatly abandoned the study of imperial examination, went through historical records, county records, anthologies, Zhangzuo and so on, and compiled the records of farmland, water conservancy, mineral resources, transportation and so on. His "every man is responsible for the rise and fall of the world" has inspired every generation of people with lofty ideals to become the motto of generations of Chinese people who aim to serve the country. Gu Yanwu also wrote 370 volumes of works in his life, including rizhilu, libingshu and zhaoyuzhi. Gu Yanwu was also rated as one of the 72 great men in 2000 by contemporary historians, and Qiandeng Town was the place where this great thinker was born.
Brief introduction of Qiandeng
This is the hometown of Gu Yanwu, a famous thinker who says "everyone is responsible for the rise and fall of the world". It is also the hometown of Gu Jian, the founder of Kunqu Opera. It is also the place where Tao Xian, the ninth generation grandson of Tao Yuanming in the Tang Dynasty, pioneered Jiangnan Silk and bamboo. This place is Qiandeng Town. Zhouzhuang and Jinxi are close neighbors of Qiandeng. They vigorously develop tourism resources The successful creation of "China's first water town" and "China's Museum town" respectively awakened Qiandeng people. Qiandeng people found that their cultural heritage left by their "ancestors" is no less than other famous towns in the south of the Yangtze River. Therefore, the town has reached a consensus from top to bottom. Although the tourism development of the town is relatively late, the ancient town has good resources and should vigorously develop tourism and go out of the way The road of tourism with its own characteristics --- the road of culture. Today, the well preserved scenic spots of Qiandeng ancient town are: the former residence of Gu Yanwu, an outstanding thinker in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Qinfeng pagoda built in the third year of Liang Tianjian (503), Shaoqing mountain, Shiban street, and the Ming and Qing ancient stone bridge with yixiantian and Shuixiu Bridge.
Historical evolution
Gu Yanwu was born in 1613 in Qiandeng Town, Kunshan. He died in Quwo, Shanxi Province in 1682 (the 21st year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty). He was born in Qiandeng Town, Kunshan from his younger brother Gu Yan and returned to his hometown. He was buried in the tomb of his father Gu Tongji and his mother Wang Zhenxiao. In front of the tomb, there is a stone tablet inscribed with "Mr. Gu Tinglin and his wife Wang Shuo's tomb"; there are low brick walls around There are four willows and dozens of pines and cypresses in the back of the tomb. In 1894, Wan Lijun, magistrate of Xinyang County, rebuilt his tomb.
In 1914, Liang dingfen, a Guangdong scholar and the host of the Confucius church, made a special trip to qiandun to pay a visit to Tinglin tomb and the remains of his abdomens, and entrusted Gu Ziyu, the 12th grandson of his husband, to build Tinglin temple.
In 1956, Gu Yanwu's tomb and ancestral hall were listed as "cultural relics protection units in Jiangsu Province". During the cultural revolution, the tomb and ancestral hall were destroyed.
In 1984, the Cultural Management Association of Jiangsu Province designed and funded the restoration of the tomb and ancestral hall by the Cultural Management Association of Kunshan City.
In 1997, the Kunshan municipal government allocated funds for the restoration of Gu Yanwu's former residence, making full use of the square brick floor, gatehead, water wells, granite square columns and other buildings of Gu Yanwu's former residence to repair the hall, sedan hall and main hall. In 2000, Gu Yanwu's former residence was named "Kunshan patriotism education base" and "Suzhou patriotism education base" respectively by the Propaganda Department of Kunshan municipal Party committee and Suzhou municipal Party committee.
In order to protect historical relics and inherit historical culture, the people's Government of Qiandeng Town invited Southeast University to prepare the protection plan for Gu Yanwu's tomb in 2002, and invested a huge sum of money to repair his former residence, ancestral hall and tomb. It has restored 240 square meters of residential buildings, 120 square meters of reading buildings, 100 square meters of water wall doors and 150 square meters of dining rooms, covering an area of 30 mu, with a total area of 300 square meters Gu garden with the characteristics of Jiangnan private garden. As of 2002, Gu Yanwu's former residence covers an area of 60 mu, with a construction area of 5450 square meters.
