Cloud valley scenic area is located in the east of Huangshan Mountain, with an altitude of only 890 meters. It is a low-lying, slightly open valley. The main scenic spots in Yungu scenic area are Yungu villa, ancient trees, strange rocks, "Nine Dragon Waterfall" and "Baizhang spring".

Development history

Cheng Yuanfeng, the Prime Minister of Song Dynasty, once studied here, so he was named prime minister yuan. Fu Yan, a scholar of the Ming Dynasty, wandered here. He wrote the word "cloud Valley" in calligraphy at the request of the throwing bowl Zen monk. After that, the Zen temple was renamed "cloud Valley Temple". Over time, cloud Valley Temple became today's place name.

Main attractions

Cloud Valley Villa is located in the green pines and bamboos, surrounded by mountains, streams and quiet environment. It is not only a modern hotel, but also a typical ancient residential building group in Huizhou. The buildings are well arranged with small green tiles and horse head walls. One hundred meters above the villa is the lower station building of Yungu passenger ropeway, and the climbing stone road beside it can reach Beihai on the top, Jiulong waterfall and kuzhu River on the bottom. The road leads to hot springs. There are only three rare ancient trees: East China yellow fir, 500 years old; South China hemlock, 800 years old. These two trees are perennial trees with green leaves. They are magnificent and magnificent. The two trees share a peculiar phenomenon, that is, there are two kinds of branches and two kinds of leaves on the same tree, both coniferous and broad-leaved. There is also a tall ginkgo tree, 1000 years old, 26 meters high, 3.1 meters around, eye-catching. These three ancient trees are all located on the left side of the ancient temple site of Yungu temple. East China hemlock was first discovered by the plant collection group of Nanjing Jinling University in 1923, which attracted the attention and research of botanists. Both East China hemlock and southern hemlock are unique tertiary relic plants in China, and are listed as key protected tree species by the state.

The grotesque stones in Yungu are "lion grabbing the ball", "Qin stone platform" and "eternal stone". There are many stone carvings on the huge rocks, such as "gradually entering a beautiful place", "wonderful beginning", "drunk singing", "Tongyou" and so on. According to geologists, they are the rocks left by Quaternary glaciers.

"Jiulong waterfall" and "Baizhang spring", together with the "Renzi waterfall" in the hot spring area, are known as the three waterfalls of Huangshan. Jiulong waterfall is located at the downhill of West Yungu road. The waterfall originates from Tiandu, Yuping and Liandan peaks, and then flows down the cliff between Xianglu and Luohan peaks, with a length of 300 meters. The whole waterfall is divided into nine parts, one part is a waterfall, one part is a waterfall, one part is a pool, so it is called Jiulong pool. The ancient poem describes Jiulong waterfall as follows: "Feiquan does not let kuanglu waterfall, cliff Hang on to the sky. Baizhang spring is located at the downhill of West Yungu road. You can see it by the road to the hot spring area. In rainy season, the waterfall runs down the huge cliff for 100 meters, like white silk. It is suspected that the Milky way is landing, and its momentum is extraordinary. The waterfall Pavilion is the best place to watch the waterfall.
