Daigong Temple
Daigong temple is located in Qifeng village, Xingcheng Town, Wangcheng County. In 1997, the county government reported to the municipal government by wangzheng No. 199751, and the Provincial Bureau of religion approved by xiangzongfu No. 1998 1 that the Daigong temple should be retained as a place for religious activities. There are three Daigong temples. The one on Huangjin east road is Daigong temple, the one on Jinxing North Road is Daigong temple, and the one on Yinxing road is Daigong temple. Among them, the one on Yinxing road is the oldest one with a history of more than 1000 years. It has experienced many historical disasters, several times of destruction and several times of reconstruction.
Why was it built
Daigong temple was built in Tang Dynasty. According to the records of Changsha county annals in the 10th year of Tongzhi reign of Qing Dynasty, it has a history of more than 1300 years. It is said that the three saints of Dai Gong (Dai Zongde, Dai Zongren and Dai Zongyi) are all excellent in martial arts. They have the talent of generals and are brave in doing just deeds. They were granted the title of Qifeng village seven times.
He once launched a rescue boat at linzikou of Dongting Lake twice in the cold wind and rain, and rescued 55 people. He was also good at medical treatment, giving money and medicine, and helping all living beings. He did great deeds and virtues. He was praised by the local folk songs, and later came true. He was honored as Dai gongsan, so "the villagers feel like setting up a temple to worship him", and built Dai Gong temple in Qifeng mountain. The original stage, main hall, auxiliary hall and supporting room of the temple are large-scale, similar to the Taogong temple in Dongxiang. Daigong temple was abandoned in land reform, destroyed in the cultural revolution, and then gradually restored to its present scale.
Development history
The origin and development of the three Daigong temples in Wangcheng are different, among which the old Daigong temple has a history of more than 1000 years. Daigong old temple is where Daigong's mausoleum is located. The Daigong temple on Huangjin East Road has a short history, but its origin is legendary.
Dai Gong and his three brothers were born in the late Tang Dynasty. They once opened a medical center in Hexi of Changsha to cure and save people. They led the villagers to protect themselves during the Huangchao uprising, and they were deeply respected and loved by the people. After the death of the three brothers, villagers set up ancestral temples to offer sacrifices (about 710 A.D.). During the reign of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty, a new small Daigong temple was built in the neighborhood. To show the difference, people called this ancestral temple the old Daigong temple. In 1919, the Dai Gong temple was expanded and officially renamed the old Dai Gong temple. The gate couplets and temple plaques were written by Mr. Zhou Jieli. The temple was banned in 1958, razed to the ground in the 1970s and rebuilt in 1988. The famous female calligrapher Zhou Zhaoyi (the daughter of Zhou Jieli) made up the plaque and couplet for laodaigong temple.
Dai Gong's death was buried in Yangge village of Sangzi village, and later became Dai Gong's old temple. During the four old period, the mausoleum was badly damaged. Thanks to the nearby residents covering the mausoleum and pretending to be a vegetable field, the mausoleum survived.
The origin of Daigong temple on Huangjin east road is the most legendary. Since 1958 when Daigong temple was banned, people have no place to worship Daigong. In 1965, two cattle herding boys took shelter from the rain and saw three white haired old people in Shimen cave. The news spread that it was Dai Gong's three saints who appeared in Shimen cave. Therefore, more and more pilgrims came to Shimen cave to worship, and they could not stop the pilgrims during the "cultural Revolution". After that, local people built a small temple in Shimen cave. Under the guidance of the policy of reform and opening up, in order to facilitate the believers to go up the mountain, the people donated money to local mass organizations to build a new Daigong temple in the mid levels of bajiazhai, with statues carved. There is an arch during the cultural revolution. Later, Daigong temple was built at the foot of the mountain.
In 2011, the three temples were renovated at the same time.
legend
There is a Daigong temple in bajiazhai, Hexi, Changsha. It is said that it was built by the people of bajiazhai in Ming Dynasty to commemorate the three killed herbalists in Southern Song Dynasty. (this is a misinformation. The origin of Daigong temple in bajiazhai has been explained in the previous article.)
The three brothers, whose ancestral home is Baoqing (now Shaoyang), grew up in jielongqiao, shaping. Later, they went to Malan harbor, Hexi, Changsha to practice medicine. They fought against the local unscrupulous witch doctors, cured many people and successfully drove them away.
Dai Gong's three brothers are not only skillful in medicine, but also excellent in martial arts. The three brothers once launched a rescue boat at zijiangkou of Dongting Lake in severe cold and snowstorm, and rescued 55 people. Today, there are still temples dedicated to Dai Gong in Yueyang area.
During the reign of emperor Xizong of Tang Dynasty, Huang Chao soldiers went to Tanzhou (now Changsha), and a defeated army fled to Shanhua Baoqing village to make trouble for bandits. The Dai brothers recruited villagers to resist. But the bandits were ferocious. In the fierce battle, the three brothers were killed one after another. Yu Yong retreated to Leigongchong (today's bajiazhai), where the bandits came, and the villagers were weak in fighting. All of a sudden, countless wasps flew out of the mountain, biting the eyes and nose of the bandits, forcing them to retreat, which saved them from extinction. The surviving villagers are Tang, Tan, Jin, Dai, Lu, Wan, Peng and Chen, so this place is called bajiazhai.
During the reign of emperor Zhaozong of Tang Dynasty, a general fought near Qifeng village and was invincible for a long time. In his dream, he was instructed by Jinjia God and defeated the enemy at one stroke. After the general inquired, he found that the image of Jinjia God was consistent with that of Dai Gong, and the villagers thought that this was Dai Gong's manifestation. The existing name jinjiachong, Jinping phase card.
It is said that in 1965, two shepherd boys were herding cattle in bajiazhai village, and suddenly it rained heavily. The shepherd boy went to the stone gate cave on the mountain to take shelter from the rain, and met three white bearded grandfathers in the cave. The grandfather said to let the shepherd go home early, and then the rain stopped. The shepherd boy went back to the mountain, but he couldn't find his grandfather. When the news spread, people thought it was the God of Dai Gong. Regardless of the obstruction, Dai Gong temple was built near Shimen Cave (incense in the old Dai Gong temple had been banned at that time).
