Chengkan ancient buildings

It is located in the south of Huangshan Mountain between Lingjin mountain and Fengshan mountain, 40 kilometers away from Huangshan Mountain in the north and 15 kilometers away from Yansi, the seat of Huizhou District Government in the south. Now it is the seat of Chengkan town government. There are more than 600 households and 3000 people in this village. It is an ancient civilized village with a long history and profound cultural accumulation in Huizhou.

Chengkan ancient buildings are located in Chengkan Village, Huizhou District, Huangshan City, Anhui Province.

Since the Tang Dynasty, there have been many senior officials, hermits, tycoons, historians, writers, Mohists, calligraphers and painters in this village. According to the records of Xin'an Prefecture, only 110 people in the Ming Dynasty were registered as the official of the kanluo family. Up to now, the village still has a relatively complete preservation of the overall layout and street water system of the ancient villages in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. There are 140 ancient residential buildings in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Chengkan ancient residential building group refers to 20 representative ancient residential buildings in the village (18 in Ming Dynasty and 2 in Qing Dynasty). These 20 buildings are characteristic of ancient villages in Ming Dynasty, including 1 ancestral hall, 1 community house, 1 watchtower, 2 stone bridges and 15 dwellings. It is distributed in the mountainous basin with a radius of 0.7 square kilometers. The literature ancestral hall is located in the west head of the village, which is the place for people to worship their ancestors, discuss business and hold important ritual activities; the Changchun Community is located in the south head of the village, which is the place for villagers to worship the land God and the grain God; the zhongyinggeng tower at the intersection of Lanxiang in the village is the place for night patrol and time reporting; the Huanxiu bridge and Longxing bridge across Zhongxi are the places connecting the East, West and south of the village The two stone bridges are the main roads for the villagers to go in and out of the village, and the 15 residential buildings in the village are the private houses and homes for the villagers to live and produce for generations. There are not only prominent official residences, but also simple houses, as well as residences of Huizhou merchants. In addition to the main house, some of these buildings still have kitchens, private schools, gardens, courtyard and so on.
