Mengjiaduan reservoir

Mengjiaduan reservoir consists of upper and lower reservoir areas. With a total area of 40000 Mu and a total reservoir capacity of 108 million cubic meters, it is supplied by Laoha River and Xilamulun river. It is the reservoir with the largest water storage capacity and the best vegetation landscape protection in Tongliao area. It is the largest desert reservoir in the upper reaches of Xiliao River and one of the artificial reservoirs without any pollution. After 48 years of construction, the surrounding forest coverage has reached 59%. It is rich in green and natural freshwater fish. The reservoir has more than 20 major fish species, such as grass carp, carp, silver carp, catfish, black carp, crucian carp, gayu and silver carp, with an annual output of more than 300 tons. In particular, the natural turtle in mengjiaduan reservoir can weigh up to 10 kg. With fresh air, birds flying and flocking, it is an ideal place to develop tourism.

Mengjiaduan reservoir in Naiman Banner, Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia is a large side reservoir in the upper reaches of Xiliao River.

The reservoir was built in 1958, with an area of 90 square kilometers, a design capacity of 108 million cubic meters, a maximum flood diversion flow of 315 cubic meters per second, a design irrigation area of 117000 mu, an actual irrigation area of 22800 mu, a fish culture surface of more than 30000 mu, 287 fish ponds, more than 10000 mu of suitable forest land and more than 1000 mu of agricultural land.
