Badashanren memorial hall is built in memory of Ming Dynasty painter Zhu Da (No. Badashanren). It is the first ancient painter Memorial Hall in China. It is located in the original Qingyunpu Taoist temple by Meihu Dingshan bridge in the southern suburb of Nanchang. Qingyunpu is a garden with Jiangnan characteristics. In the garden, hundreds of years of ancient camphor trees, Kuchu trees and Podocarpus arvensis are covered with green bricks, grey tiles, white walls and red columns, which are very quiet. The sky light sifted by dense leaves sprinkled on the path, bright and dark, wild and interesting. A bend lotus pool is clear and clear, reflecting the cage bamboo, fish playing, Flower Shadow swaying. Outside the park, there are winding streams, crisscrossing fields and curling smoke from farmhouses, just like a fairyland on earth.

Badashanren memorial hall is located at No. 259, Qingyunpu Road, Qingyunpu District, Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. It was formerly the former residence of Badashanren, a master of calligraphy and painting in Qing Dynasty. The museum is the first memorial hall of ancient painters in China, covering an area of about 39 mu.
There are more than 40 authentic works of Badashanren in the Badashanren Memorial Museum, as well as works of Shi Tao, Xu Wei, Huang Shen, Zheng Banqiao, Wu Changshuo, Qi Baishi and other painters.
In January 2009, Badashanren memorial hall was rated as a national second-class Museum.
In October 2018, Badashanren memorial hall was selected as one of the first batch of research and practice education bases for primary and secondary school students in Jiangxi Province.
Historical evolution
Qingyun Pu Taoist temple was built in the Western Han Dynasty. Wei Meifu of Nanchang County abandoned his official and lived in seclusion here. Later, Meixian temple was built.
During the Jin Dynasty, Xu Xun also set up a Taoist school here to control water. He founded "Jingming religion", which was renamed "Taiji view", belonging to the Jingming Taoist school.
In the fifth year of Tang Taihe (831), Zhou Xun changed his name to taiyiguan.
In the second year of the Song Dynasty (1055), it was granted the name of Tianning Temple.
In 1661, Badashan people rebuilt the original Taoist temple and renamed it Qingyun Pu, which means "Qingyun Ruyun".
In 1959, Qingyun Pu Taoist temple was opened as Badashanren Memorial Hall.
In 2009, Nanchang municipal Party committee and government took the reconstruction and expansion project of Badashanren Memorial Hall as a popular project of Nanchang City, and classified it as one of the key construction projects of "three major projects".
In January 2011, the original exhibition hall of Badashanren memorial was completed.

Qingyun ancient architecture
Qingyunpu ancient building complex is an ancient building complex built according to Taoist norms, with Jiangxi residential characteristics and Ming and Qing style characteristics. It covers an area of about 11400 square meters and a building area of about 2500 square meters.
The general layout of Qingyunpu ancient building complex is composed of the closed north-south central axis and the progressive courtyard. Combined with the surrounding environment, it forms a construction pattern of garden in the lake, courtyard in the garden, clear hierarchy and unique cave. Qingyunpu ancient buildings are basically of Ming and Qing Dynasties, and their structures are all of Jiangnan folk mixed wood structure of crossing bucket and lifting beam. The external wall is surrounded by local green brick empty bucket clear water wall. The main buildings include Guandi hall, luzu hall and xuzu hall. The three halls are built in the form of four columns, eight boundary beams and five columns, nine boundary beams. There are patios in the front and back of the three halls. In the first courtyard, there is a 500 year old arhat pine. In the second courtyard, there are cloisters around the third hall and side hall rooms on the left and right, forming the layout of front and rear courtyard, and the courtyard has good drainage and lighting functions. The doors and windows are decorated with carved lattice fans. The roof is paved with small green tiles, with a ridge, a kiss, and a hanging mountain. In the east of luzu hall, there is a small courtyard of Shuju It is a resting place for Badashan people, with a small courtyard of crane's nest in the West; on the East and west sides of xuzu hall are doulao Pavilion, Sanguan hall, Qiaoyuan and affiliated courtyard. The whole ancient building complex is separated from the garden by the clear water wall, forming a self-contained body, leaving only the "gate of the wonderful" and "doulao Pavilion" for internal and external traffic.
