Detailed introduction
Huilongtan park is located at No. 299 Tacheng Road, Jiading town, facing the Confucius Temple of Jiading across Hengli, covering an area of more than 70 mu. The park is named after huilongtan, which was excavated in the 16th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1588). The pool is composed of five rivers: Hengli River, Xinqu River, yenujing River, tangjiabang River and nanyangshubang river.
There is a mountain island in the pool, named yingkuishan, which was built in 1460, the fourth year of Shun Dynasty in Ming Dynasty. A new pavilion is built on the top of the mountain, named Lingyun Pavilion. The pavilion overlooks the panoramic view of huilongtan. In 1928, the popular education center of Jiading County transformed the scenic spots around huilongtan, yingkuishan, Kuixing Pavilion, Longmen Bridge and Confucius Temple into parks. After renovation, the original trees and buildings were officially opened to the public in February of the next year, named "Kuishan Park", which is the predecessor of huilongtan Park and the earliest Park in Jiading.
In 1976 and 1978, the county and city invested 300000 yuan and 900000 yuan respectively to expand the remaining scenic spots of Kuishan park. It was opened on June 1, 1979 and named huilongtan park. This is the first phase of the project, covering an area of 49.05 mu. In 1984, the second phase of the project was expanded to more than 70 mu. The park is divided into two parts: North and south. In the south, huilongtan, yingkuishan and dachengtai form a natural landscape with mountains and rivers. There is a newly restored Kuixing Pavilion beside the pool, a Jiuqu bridge and a shuiyiting Pavilion in the pool, which are in contrast with the rocks, green trees and red flowers in the new base of Yingkui mountain.
The big lawn in the east of Xiangtan has an open space and flat terrain. The monuments of Mr. dongzeng and Mr. Huang Chunyao of the Ming Dynasty stand majestically. There are also a few maple trees more than 100 years old beside the pond. In 1853, more than 1000 officers and soldiers of the Shanghai Small Sword Society Uprising were killed here by the Qing army because of the failure of the uprising. Now this precious historical site has become a place for revolutionary traditional education.
In the south of the park, huilongtan water and Yingkui mountain form a natural landscape. The buildings of Ming and Qing Dynasties, such as Kuixing Pavilion and bainiao Chaoyang terrace, have been built on the ground, with magnificent and towering ancient trees, famous flowers and different grasses. The courtyard pattern of Gusu in the north, with cornices, elegant and simple, white walls, small bridges, flowing water and winding paths. The layout is compact, the ancient buildings are relatively concentrated, the shapes of changguan building, Yian hall and zhuihua hall are different, simple and elegant.
There are many historical and cultural sites in the park, including stone pavilions, stone pagodas and stone peaks of song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, and 11 ancient and famous trees with more than 100 years. It is a classic of history, culture and art. The achievements of the monument of Mr. Hou Huang ER and the site of the sacrifice of Xiaodaohui add a lot of interest to visitors. Wandering in the secluded land of simplicity and beauty is like entering the peach garden, full of poetic and picturesque.
