Liandao Beach

Liandao beach, located in Liandao, Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, is the largest natural high-quality beach in Jiangsu Province, also known as Suma Bay. It is mainly composed of dashawan bathing beach and sumawan bathing beach. It is a national AAAA scenic spot.

Suma Bay, named after the beautiful legend of the late Ming Dynasty general Su Ziheng, is the most famous scenic spot in Liandao seaside resort. It combines the natural scenery of green mountains, blue sea and golden beach with the cultural landscape of harbor, huge dike, fishing village and ancient stone carvings. The annual "summer of Lianyungang" is held here, attracting tens of thousands of tourists from all over the country to come here for summer vacation.

Development history

According to historical records, there was a Zhenhai Temple in Liandao, which worshipped the Bodhisattva and protected the local fishermen for peace and happiness. Later, due to disrepair, Zhenhai Temple was destroyed during the Anti Japanese war. With the approval of the relevant departments, the Management Committee of Liandao resort started the restoration and reconstruction of the ancient temple of Zhenhai Temple. First, the reconstruction of jinshengchan temple, the lower courtyard of Zhenhai Temple, was completed, and the winding 100 meter corridor pavilion was built. It is understood that the planning scheme of Zhenhai Temple has been completed, covering an area of 48 mu with a total investment of nearly 40 million yuan. It will be built on the hillside above Shawan village reservoir.

In 2004, the newly built jinshengchan temple in Liandao Suma Bay scenic area of Lianyungang was completed, and a grand opening ceremony was held, which added a new tourist attraction to Suma Bay.

The Bay integrates mountain, sea, forest, stone, beach and cultural landscape. Golden beach is a summer resort for bathing in the sea, tasting seafood and sightseeing. It is also a perfect place for water sports and entertainment. Because of its special geographical location, there is no severe cold in winter and no severe heat in summer. It can be bathed in the sea for up to 90 days every year.

1. From the big beach bathing beach, you can walk along the waterfront plank road to Suma Bay bathing beach. It takes 1 hour to walk, but there are mountains on one side and sea on the other. The scenery is good and the road condition is good.

2. Compared with the two beaches, the area of dashawan beach is large and gentle, which is more suitable for children to play. There will be some sand sculptures in dashawan. Suma Bay has few people, good water quality and steep beach slope.

3. There is a battery car between the two beaches. It is suggested that you can take the sightseeing bus (5 yuan / person) in the scenic spot to Suma Bay bathing beach directly. If you have physical strength, you can take the seaside plank road to enjoy the scenery along the way to dashawan bathing beach.
