Cixi Zhishan Park

There is a Zhishan park about half a kilometer south of Cixi City. It is the largest comprehensive park in Ningbo with an area of 23 hectares. Founded in 1985, it was planned and designed by Shanghai Tongji University and Hangzhou Landscape Design Institute. After more than a year of intensive construction, it was opened to the public on New Year's day in 1987.

Park structure

The whole garden is divided into two parts: the south part is mainly for recreation, and the garden architecture follows the traditional methods, simple and elegant; the north part is mainly for recreation, and the architecture pays attention to the flavor of the times, and is coordinated with the urban street view not far away. For this reason, the park's dynamic and static, rigid and flexible, and landscape settings make full use of the natural conditions of the ups and downs of the terrain, scattered, dense and alternate, there are connected, there are lead, there are exposed, there are hidden, and the vegetation configuration can take the original pine, bamboo, maple and bayberry as the keynote, make appropriate adjustments to achieve the characteristics of spring, summer, autumn and winter, so that the whole park has become a beauty My world.

Park attractions

From the city southbound, through the 329 National Road, into the Temple Hill Road, you can see the north gate of the park from afar. The door is made transparent and fast with fresh style. The four gold characters "Zhishan Park" on the door are just like the four stars embedded on the green screen. When you enter the gate, you will see a group of scenery called "Yuanming fountain": one of them is a large round pool with a diameter of 24 meters, on which stands a circular "Yuanming bridge" built according to the edge of the pool. Standing on the bridge, you can see a water column more than 10 meters high from the center of the pool, scattered into thousands of broken beads, stirring up ripples all over the pool; you can also see countless weeping willows outside the pool, with their branches and leaves leaning on each other, rippling gently in the wind.

After Yuanming bridge, there is a children's recreation area at the foot of the East Mountain, which covers an area of about 20 mu. There are modern facilities for children's activities, such as spaceship, space train, Castle bounce, electric train, electric car and double yacht; there are three mushroom pavilions on the hillside; and there is a retired fighter plane presented by the army on the easternmost side.

From Yuanming bridge to the south, it is the main way to enter the park. Near the foot of the mountain stands a stone archway, on which is engraved the four character banner of "live high and sound far" and a couplet of "once the king of Yue tasted the gall, you can see the money? Shoot Chaoping". It makes people see thousands of miles and think for thousands of years, which makes them feel detached. After passing the memorial archway, there are 186 climbing stone steps. For this reason, a stone pavilion is built on the hillside, which is located under the cliff and hidden among the bamboos. Its name is "green bamboo Pavilion". The stream circulates and the shade covers it. Some elderly people often rest here.

At the end of the stone steps, originally called sishanguan, is a dangerous and important place. Now it has become a big platform. A 4-meter-high wall runs across it from east to west. There is an antique tower on the city wall, towering, with beams and cornices, which is not elegant. Because it was built on the day when Cixi County was removed and the city was established, it was named "Jianshi tower". The tower is connected to the Sinian Pavilion on the east mountain top in the East and the Xiaofeng Pavilion on the West Mountain in the West. Below it is an arched gate with a height of 3.5 meters, a width of 3 meters and a depth of 12 meters. This is the only channel connecting the north and south parts of the park.

The south part of the park is a dashan'ao, which is high in the north and low in the south. A highway around the mountain connects the main scenic spots here. About 30 meters southwest along the road from the gate of the city, you can see a group of buildings with Mingxiang building as the main body. This is the center of the whole garden. The towering pavilions and bamboo and wood cages show the ancient and elegant taste of oriental architecture. According to the old records, there was a Buddhist temple built here in the sixth year of Tianfu in the later Jin Dynasty (941), later known as Ruyi temple. It is said that the scale is not small. Mingxiang building, with cornices and heavy buildings, is elegant and quiet. There are often gatherings of guests upstairs. There is a teahouse downstairs for tourists to have a rest,

There is a corridor in the north of Mingxiang building. There is an ancient well preserved in the corridor. According to the research, it was dug by monks in the Northern Song Dynasty. Now it has been restored. The well water is clear and sweet, and the seasons are endless. At the end of the corridor, there is another "Emerald Pavilion", surrounded by pine, bamboo and tea forests. In the depth of the bamboo grove, you can see a path leading to the Xiaofeng Pavilion. It's really beautiful and natural.

To the south of Mingxiang tower, the terrain is becoming more and more flat. Near aokou, there are lianxinchi, Huafang, Caoyuan and streams. Because there is a shadow wall on the outside, the above scenes are half hidden and half exposed, adding a little style. The Lianxin pool turned out to be a small round pool connected by two mouths. There was a rockery in the East Pool and a carp in the West pool. There is a small stone arch bridge named "Ruyi" between the two pools.

From lianxinchi to the East, through a zigzag stone path across the bottom of Ao, to the other side of shan'ao, you can see a tall dragon gate carved with bluestone standing at the intersection. On the door, two black dragons hold the pillars, with beads facing each other, and inscribed with four big characters: Lingqi Dangxiong. Through this door, along the mountain road up is a cliff. Under the cliff, the spring water tinkles in the winter and converges into a small pool; on the top of the cliff, there is a flat ground. There is a pavilion in the middle of the tree shadow, with the word "liuxiang" written on it, echoing with the word "jugao Shengyuan" on the Beishan memorial archway, and the poem "yongchan" written by Yu Shinan, a forerunner from his hometown, which makes people feel appropriate and natural. Further up, you can climb the top of the mountain, the Sinian Pavilion, the Golden Pavilion, and the Zhuzhu Pavilion, opposite to the Xiaofeng Pavilion on the west mountain. In the pavilion overlooking, green all over the world, three North rivers and mountains is really beautiful! A tomb of the Western Zhou Dynasty was found near the Sinian Pavilion. More than 100 pieces of primitive celadon ware were unearthed. It can be seen that nearly 3000 years ago, when this area was still an island by the sea, there were frequent human activities.

If you go in the opposite direction from "Lingqi Dangxiong", pass Minggao Pavilion, and then turn eastward along the south wall, you will be the South Gate of the park. The glazed tile roof, red paint doors and windows of the gate tower and the towering green trees in the mountain pass make it look ancient and elegant. A long couplet beside the door reads: "the building locks the scenery of the south of the Yangtze River, making the four corners to win; the gate sets the mountains in the north, thousands of hectares of waves, welcoming the five continents of Xianbin", which is quite impressive. The south gate was originally the main gate of the park. After the north gate was opened, it was close to the urban area, so there were not many people going to the south gate. It's just connected with roads. When people travel in the park by car, they have to get in and out from here.
